Great Breakfast

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Great breakfast, newly remodeled, clean, courteous staff
Cons: Sound insulation between walls and floors, faster elevator or stair access to the under ground parking
Location: 2-3 blocks from Ferry Landing to Downtown San Diego, the beginning of the Silver Strand bike/jogging path, and several good restaurants
The breakfast was much more than expected with generous hours (5a-10a on the weekend) and had more hot items than most breakfasts listed as continental. There was bacon, scrambled eggs, mini quiche and French toast sticks the first morning and sausage and mini breakfast burritos the next day along with all the standard hotel breakfast items (cereal, oatmeal, bagels, muffins, juice, etc.) and the coffee was decent. The hotel is nicely remodeled and clean. Beds are ok, my husband likes a very soft bed so was not very comfortable but I found it just fine. The staff were courteously and quick to be helpful although when I asked for the gate to the pool/spa area to be opened, it never was, but I also told the desk staff I didn't need it open until later so I was forgotten. The location is ok. At the intersection of the 2 busiest streets in Coronado but we asked for a room not facing either street and didn't hear hardly any street noise. It is 2 blocks from restaurants by the ferry but about 1 mile from the main area by the Hotel Del. The room noise was pretty annoying. The walls/ceilings/floors/doors are thin and you can hear everything around you. When the tenant above us turned on the shower it sounded like a raging river, every foot step was a hollow boom and voices carried in the open interior courtyard. Overall was pleased with this hotel and would consider staying here again.

Quick getaway

Posted Dec 6, 2014
Cons: Parking was a bit tight down a level. It's a good thing we broth car instead of pickup.
Location: Close to everything we wanted to do
We drove down from northern Calif and stayed two nights here and the staff was very helpful with any requests. They upgraded us to a better room free of charge because they said our room reservation was for Dec, although I had my email stating November. Close to all SD hot spots. Would stay again here.

Klein aber fein

Posted Nov 26, 2014

Great hotel

We loved the refreshments provided all day and night. The breakfast was huge. I don't think we could have asked for more. The room was clean and the maid service was perfect.

We enjoyed this hotel

Posted Oct 16, 2014
Pros: location for a budget
Cons: Room smelled smoky
Location: Shops, ferry landing to San Diego, restaurants.
I would have given this a 4 if the room we received would have never had a smoker staying in it. We requested a non smoking room, but clearly there were smokers staying in the room at some point. We loved everything else about this hotel. Real nice breakfast in the morning, the staff were very nice. A great location if you are staying on a budget. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and stores. We would go again.

Cons: Wifi was poor in room. Within hours, they strung an extra port near the room.
We had a very pleasant stay. The continental breakfast had a good selection of food, with a little day-to-day variety.
