The Best Kept Secret in San Diego

Posted Aug 20, 2013 on Hotels
Our stay at Britt Scripps was nothing short of superlative. The inn is absolutely charming, and radiant with character. The staff are freindly and helpful. These, togeather with a prime central location minutes away from Balboa Park, the Gaslamp district, Seaport Village, and Coronado made our vacation a 5 star expereince. Can't wait to go back!

Excellent location, but . . .

Posted Jul 1, 2013
Pros: Breakfasts were excellent, especially the scones.
Location: If you are not bothered by street noise (cars, buses) and do not mind the sounds of airplanes approaching the airport, then this place is for you.
Walked to Balboa Park museums and the zoo; 10-minute walk. Good restaurants also within easy walking distance.

Beautiful Victorian Bed & Breakfast

Posted Jun 23, 2013
Location: The Britt Scripps is one block from Balboa Park which meant we could walk to the Old Globe Theatre, the museums, the zoo and the beautiful gardens.
We had a lovely, relaxing stay at this lovingly maintained Victorian home - now a bed and breakfast hotel. Each room was decorated in its own individual style with a blend of historic ambiance and modern convenience. The staff was friendly and helpful and the breakfast choices were excellent. The "Wine and Cheese" offering between 5 and 7 p.m. was a pure pleasure - especially when taken on the veranda overlooking the garden courtyard. Bus stops were within one block so we were easily able to get downtown, to the Harbor Tour and to the Gaslamp Quarter.

Home away from home

Posted Jun 16, 2013
Pros: Spacious comfortable rooms, friendly and courteous staff and fantastic breakfast!!!
Cons: Not a thing!
Location: 2 blocks off of Balboa Park, just about a 1 mile walk to the San Diego Zoo, a few blocks away from some terrific food, a short walk to museums
The Britt Scripps Inn felt like a home away from home. It is walking distance from Balboa Park, Multiple museums and the San Diego Zoo. It has easy access to the highways is you want to explore other areas of the city. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The staff was amazing! They are friendly, courteous and look to make your stay fabulous. The breakfast was always great! Love the scones :-) Every evening there is wine and cheese too. We will definitely come back here to stay when we go to San Diego.
