Reasonably good value

Posted Nov 21, 2014
Pros: Soundproofing. Hotel is near freeway, but rooms are amazingly quiet.
Location: Good location. Close to several restaurants and drive-thrus (including an In-N-Out!!). Close to Legoland (hotel offerred ~10% discounts)
Rented multiple rooms with friends and family for three nights. Checkin and checkout was quick and easy. Free breakfast was a plus.

The room and hotel were nice. There was noises all night and day from the pipes. So loud it would wake us up from sleeping

Easy access to Legoland San Diego

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Well priced, clean, easy access to Legoland and restaurants.
Location: Located on the 5 freeway with Legoland within walking and driving distance. The beach is nearby.
A San Diego Legoland stay-cation with my 8-year old grandson was a grand success! If you're not going to spend much time in your room, this a great value. The rooms were clean and quiet. We were on the second floor and had a balcony that looked out onto a grassy area. There is a no-frills breakfast buffet with the basics, in-room movies, and a nice pool. The rates were exceptionally reasonable for the off-season (November) and the park was not crowded. Legoland is an easy drive and an easier walk! The resort also offers a shuttle service to Legoland as well. There are several meal choices directly across from the resort located in a small outdoor mall -Ruby's Diner, Panda Express, Subway, Rubio's - places that are familiar to many kids and are kid-friendly. There's a PF Changs and a Corner Bakery a very short walk down the street. You can walk to Legoland and to all of your meals without ever getting into your car - that's what I call a vacation!

An "OK" hotel for the money.

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Clean, isolate noise from the outside.
Cons: mattress's are old. very noisy.
Hotel was clean and the noise isolation form the freeway was good. The description on Expedia mentioned you can have a Roll Away bed in the 2 queen beds room, unfortunately that was not the case. Hotel personal was snippy about the fact that it is a fire hazard (like I work in the hotel industry and supposed to know it). Breakfast was ok, nothing fancy nothing bad. My only complain was that both mattress springs were cracking all the time from the slightest movement (and not the good kind 8-)

Nice staff

Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: A very reasonably priced hotel with plenty of amenities. A great breakfast.
Cons: Nothing - all was good.
Location: It is right by the highway, offering access to all that San Diego offers.
This was my second stay, and it, along with my first was very pleasant.

Quaint & Comfortable Value

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: Great staff, free shuttle bus, large, clean room with study space. Decent free internet. Convenient location. Shops and restaurants across the street.
Cons: While decent, the breakfast got a little boring. The resort is pretty spread out and can be a little confusing to navigate.
Location: Outlet mall. GIA campus. Legoland park. PF Chang's restaurant. Rubio's. TGI Friday's. Convenience store/gas.
I stayed for 15 days at CBTSR to complete my studies at the nearby GIA campus and lab. CBTSR is perfectly located for this, and has a complementary shuttle bus that will drop off and pick up daily. All of the resort staff were very friendly and accommodating (they have 24 hour staff which is helpful), my room was large and clean and overlooked a nice pool and outdoor lounge area. The complementary daily breakfast was decent with an assortment of fresh fruits, cereals, bagels, hot foods and yogurt. There are some great casual and family restaurants in the area and I especially enjoyed Rubio's across the street and Karl Strauss Brewery restaurant a short ride away. A lot of fellow GIA students were also staying at the resort and we enjoyed meeting for coffee and breakfast daily as well as spending time together around the resort. I would definitely recommend CBTSR for students and families as it is a great value! I'd love to stay there again!

4-day weekend

Posted Nov 14, 2014
Pros: Price, convenience, near beach
Cons: Clean the upholstered chairs in the rooms
Do not reserve a hotel room anywhere near Legoland, on a 4-day weekend (Veteran's Day Holiday)...hundreds of unruly wild kids; otherwise, the hotel is very calm during the week.
