Exactly As AdvertisedPosted Nov 19, 2013
Pros: It felt like a home and it was near everything.
Cons: Nothing that we saw.
Location: We were able to walk to dinner and shop.
This was an random find on Expedia. It was quaint, quiet, and the room was really nice. It had everything you needed or would want for a weekend getaway. It was very homey and comfortable and block away from the main drag with all the stores and restaurants. We got there a little late after check-in so the office was closed. However our name was on an envlope in a mail slot with others with our receipt, keys, breakfast vouchers - which we didn't know we were going to get - and all our questions answered. We would definitely go back.

Good room / Great staff --- CLOSE TO THE BEACHPosted Oct 21, 2013
Cons: AC noise
Location: Very close to the beach, lots of shops, and restaurants. Everything you need in easy walking distance.
The key was location. The Cherokee is just off the main road where all the food, shops, and entertainment was. It was also VERY close to the beach. I walked everywhere and nothing was very far away. My room was very clean and the people at the Inn were very friendly and helpful. As other reviews have mentioned their is a really small older style box tv in the room and the AC unit was a little noisy, but I wasn't there to hang out in my room, so the positives outweigh those considerations by a lot!

Pros: Very welcoming. Mints, fresh cold water with oranges, shortbread. Real coffee/tea cups, wine glasses, opener. Quiet area. Relaxing porch, rockers.

Location: Short walk to downtown, shopping great restaurants and the beach. Breakfast vouchers for Panera, lovely outdoor seating. Great food at Costa Azul.
Nice relaxing walk on the beach, great dinner at Costa Azul. Able to walk everywhere.

Very close to the beach, about 4 blocks.Posted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: Very quiet, very clean
Location: The Del Coronado Hotel is very close by, you have to go see the property. There are some bike rental shops very near by.
Walking distance to lots of shopping and many great places to eat. Lodge is very clean and well maintained. We had a great night stay. Flew into San Diego to pick up a Sprinter Cab Chassis to drive back to my Dealership in Tucson, Az. Took the wife with me to make a nice date nite out before we drove back. I would stay there again, but make it a longer visit. Staff is very informed on things to do and the history of the area.

Unique and conveniently located.Posted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: Orderly and clean. Instead of a continental breakfast they provide you with a voucher for breakfast at Panerra Bread just down the street (~1/2 block)
Cons: Panerra bread is NOT a favorite of mine. Their breakfast sandwhiches are very bland....but I'm from Texas so I like a little more spice in my life.
Location: Walking distance to the beach...and towels are provided for you. Good restaurants nearby (try Cafe` D'Asia).
On the recommendation of a coworker that has stayed at the Cherokee Lodge several times I booked a two-night stay. GLAD I DID! Not pretentious but casually quaint and conveniently located. It is walking distance to most everything (beach, restaurants, ice cream shop - lol).

Beautiful, welcoming place to stay!Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Clean, comfortable, welcoming, within walking distance from the beach as well as many restaurants and stores. Staff was great.
Location: Coronado Beach, great variety of restaurants. In our opinion one of the most beautiful places in the U.S.
The Cherokee Lodge was a beautiful, clean, welcoming place to stay. We brought our three adult children and were all very comfortable. The lodge is within a few blocks of the beach and only a block from Coronado's main street so we didn't even need to use our car. Our expectations were exceeded for the whole weekend in this lovely location!

Wonderful surprisePosted Sep 2, 2013
Pros: See above
Cons: It was close to perfect. A note on Expedia to call if you are arriving to be later than 4:00 for checkin instructions.
Cute old fashioned room. I am told each one is different. Good breakfast with coupons to Panteras.

The Cherokee Lodge is a very comfortable place to stay on Coronado Island. The location couldn't be better. One block off of the main street where lots of restaurants & shops are located. Only a short walk to the beach! What more could one want?!

Home away from home...in Coronado!Posted Jul 31, 2013
Pros: None of the flash and pizzazz; it's all about homey and cozy. I'm happy to felt I had a home away from home.
Cons: Parking would be the only issue since its just parking on the curb and plan either to do a bit of walking or a bit of waiting for the right spot.
Location: The enitre street of Orange Ave has from the movie theater, local restaurants, a couple bars / pubs, shopping stores and there's the beach walks away.
First, to set the record straight, this isn't a hotel...per se...it's more like home away from home. When first locating the place, it looks like you're going through the residential area of Coronado and when you get there, it really looks like you've just come home. I was greeted by Claudia, who has been friendly and helpful during the entire time since I first called about my reservation. The entire place and the room has that old Victorian style but just as clean and comfortable as if you stayed at any other inn, hotel, or motel. You're given a voucher for Panera restaurant free breakfast (even the place is supposedly under the Bed & Breakfast category who cares; it's a small walk away and a free meal.) The room I was in had its own mini fridge and a mini tv (but if you're complaining about a mini tv from the large plasma screens why bother coming to Coronado Island if you plan on watching tv for your entire stay?). Overall it's cozy and homey and feel like more with the locals and...the beach is nearby. Awesome stay.
