easily accessible transportation to all sightseeing locations, airport and restaurants. However, the hotel is in Downtown area close to Broadway, so safety and cleanliness can be a concern for some people. The air conditioner in the room needs to be updated.

$50 dollars to park in the hotel parking lot per day… This isn’t disclosed on Expedia listing. Street parking is difficult to come by and are metered. Besides that staff were friendly and hotel was clean.

Wifi did not wor K and when we called the front desk, their reponse was just “uhm, try restarting your device.” We did this and it did not work. The shower in the room sprayed all over the floor. We got 1st floor room and it was horribly loud. Staff was NOT helpful. We were not told about extra security deposit and/or parking fees at booking or we would have booked at another location. Overall the room is not worth the 50 bucks savings at a better hotel. A complete miss.

The hotel is conveniently located in the Gaslamp district of San Diego. It is very close to everything: nightlife, the San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park. But it’s far away from the activities and the noise. The bed is comfortable, and the breakfast is good. Stuff is attentive and gracious. We would stay here again.

After reading some of the reviews, I was a little worried. But from the moment we arrived , until we left-and we booked an extra night- we had nothing but GREAT service and all smiles. Yeah, there are some homeless folks outside that you need to be aware of, but snide all was good. And the breakfast was great with hot and cold choices. The woman keeping everything clean and filled was a sweetheart.

They should call this place the Discomfort Inn. I will never stay here again. There was a rude staff member on duty when we arrived. The room was advertised on Expedia as having a rollaway bed option. I called ahead and a lady said yes of course there would be one for you. I arrived and the guy at the front desk tersely said “well u can have one only if we have one”. I said I called ahead and was assured there would be one. He repeated the same phrase. He comes back five minutes later and says they have one and it will be delivered to my room. I get to my room and there’s an inflatable mattress leaned up against the bed, no sheets, no pillows, nothing. I’m like you gotta be kidding me. So I go downstairs, and the same rude staff says oh you need sheets? I said yes, I need sheets, a pillow, a comforter, or blanket. And why on earth am I getting an inflatable mattress to sleep on the floor? He said the rooms are too small for rollaway beds so they didn’t have any. Total BS. He brought one set of sheets out and said they did not have any comforters or blankets. I asked for a second set of sheets which he went back and got. Eventually, much later that evening, a different and nicer staffer stripped off a bed of an unoccupied room, and gave me a blanket. Then at 7 AM housekeeping woke us up and offered to give me a pillow. Unbelievable. It was noisy both nights too with car alarms, vehicles beeping like they’re construction vehicles. Do yourself a favor. Don’t stay at this place.

Left disappointed with a dirty room for the whole stay. Upon check-in, you are told the room cleaning service is every other day. On my 3-night stay my room was not cleaned once. On the day they were supposed to clean it, I went in the morning to the front desk to confirm because the room was dirty, and needed the trash to be taken out. The employee said, "I have you scheduled for today". My room was not cleaned. Had to sleep in a very dirty room without clean towels. The next morning I informed the staff, and unfortunately, no other remediation was offered other than "sorry". That is disappointing. On the other hand: Friendly staff. It is a good location, within walking distance of many delicious restaurants. Parking right behind the building.

Stayed here with my 3 boys for the Holiday bowl at Petco park. Great location, not the trendiest of hotels but my 3 boys didnt care, they had a blast, but would not stay here with the wife.

Family weekend getaway
Took a weekend trip to San Diego for the holiday bowl and to go to sea world over Christmas break. The comfort inn is super close to petco park so it was very convenient to walk to the game. Also close to gaslamp and all the bars and restaurants so expect it to be alittle noisy. But i thought the location was great, a little noise in exchange for a center of the action spot to sleep is fine by me. Really the only thing loud in our room was the air conditioner attached to the window. The rooms are meh, but what can you expect for the reasonable price in a great location?? Very basic, 2 beds, desk and kitchenette which is always great when traveling with family. But overall our room and the hotel in general was very clean and well taken care of. The morning breakfast included in the price was a much added bonus. Lots of food choices, waffles, pancakes, eggs and sausage and all the other extras like cereal, oatmeal, yogurt and breakfast breads. I think the only part where they really get you is parking at $50 per night! But the lot is supervised with cameras, so at least safer than parking in a random lot farther away. Overall, we had a pleasant stay and we would come back again.
