Great location for Gaslamp Qtr.,Horton plaza, Petco Park & waterfront. Traveling w/2 teenagers,nice room, Interesting hotel history & architecture,well preserved.Only drawback to gaslamp qtr. are the numerous street people/beggars/homeless. Nice weekend.

“Great experience!”

From beginning to end, this hotel more than satisfied. We loved the historical aspect of it (an old bank with much of the original architecture and fixtures intact), the cleanliness was great as was the comfort. We also liked the "young" feel to the hotel (cute valet, attendants, etc) and the friendliness! Ask for the tour of the hotel! Excellent food in the brunch downstairs...and the price was right! We will definitely stay here again.

San Diego is fabulous, the hotel was recommended to us and we were not disappointed, the position was good and very buzzy, hotel itself was lovely as were the staff. Would fully recommend.

“Very pleasantly surprised!”

I booked 3 rooms here for a bachelorette getaway. The hotel was very impressive, with an elegant lobby rich in history. The staff was courteous and friendly, with the valet and check-in attendants making extra effort to make our stay pleasant. The location was perfect - walking distance to everything you could want. The rooms were spacious and lovely, with the most comfortable beds and pillows. We were all very pleased with the great rate we received for such a nice downtown gaslamp hotel. I can't wait to go back with my fiance soon! The only negative experience we had was with Leslie, who was attending the front desk on Saturday night. Leslie was very rude to a couple of members of our group, and treated me with the same poor service when I called in to kindly request an extra key for a pregnant guest that wished to return to the room to rest. Leslie's abrupt and unaccomodating nature was totally uncalled for and truly surprised us all, because the rest of the staff goes so above and beyond to be helpful. I reported the matter to the manager the next morning and hope that it was addressed. I observed her treat other guests poorly too, and it would be a shame to have one ill-placed staff member tarnish people's impression of what is an otherwise wonderful place to stay.

“Valet parking---too much $$$!!!”

The hotel is beautiful, I will give them that. The only thing I was unhappy about was the fact that we had to pay $30 a night to valet park the car. We had debated back and forth between a few hotels and a lot of other hotels in the area include the valet parking in the cost of the hotel room. Although this might be a more "economical"hotel to some, I don't usually spend this kind of money on hotel rooms. That really was the only complaint though. The room was nice and clean. Everything was with in walking distance. There is a 7-11 on the backside of the hotel that came in handy when we needed water after a long night of having fun!

“Beautiful Hotel in a Convenient Location”

The building is beautiful and very well maintained. The location is very convenient. We could easily walk to see the sights of the Gaslamp District. The wait staff at the restaurant was very friendly and the food was good. The valets brought our car around immediately when we called for it. We would stay there again.

We stayed for one night only, a Friday night, and it was great. The hotel was clean, the service was great, and the hotel has alot of character. definitely would stay there again and recommend to anyone.

“Beautiful hotel”

This hotel was great. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the building is fantastic - a converted bank building with lots of interesting architectural features. I enjoyed my stay very much.
