Convenient and close to Moonlight beach

Posted Aug 15, 2014
The staff was pretty friendly, and the location to the beach was awesome. The room was fine, but the carpet was dirty. If you walk across it barefoot a few times, your feet will be black. There were many dining options - a Denny's is in the same lot, there are fast food joints across the street, and there are restaurants within a few minutes drive.

Older style hotel but close to beach

Posted Jul 26, 2014
Hotel is older (eg. no ceiling fans, no central ac - only has window ac units, some rooms hv flat screen TVs & some don't, etc...). Rooms could definitely be upgraded. Some plug outlets work, some don't .. If I'm going to spend an average of $159 a night, I would like a room that is worth that much to stay in. Would rather of stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn for the same price a night.

OK but internet is slow

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Cons: internet speed
The value is fine but I do not think a faster internet will cost too much more...

Needs a good deep cleaning

Posted Jul 13, 2014
Carpets were filthy. If you walk barefoot in your room, your feet will be black. Told staff about it and they were rude. Breakfast used to be great (used to include bagels & danishes) now has bread slices, oatmeal that resembles slop. We've stayed @ days inn encinitas at least 3x before but this was our worst stay. It's gone downhill in the past year.

Pros: location. clean and friendly staff.
Location: Dennys, Wendys and gas station.
Everything was ok until the last day. We couldnt use the pool because someone pooped in it!!!! Just for that I would be unable to go back to that place :(

Just a normal Days Inn, in a great location

Stayed one night, the room was clean and bed was firm. It is right off Interstate 5 and close to the beach.

Good room for good rate

Posted Jun 24, 2014
Needed a place to stay after Legoland (~5 mi away). Comfortable room with two queen beds and close to downtown Encinitas. Refrigerator was a plus. Did not try the continental breakfast. Carpets were dirty and left our socks black (remnants of the fires?), but beds and bathroom were fine

Basic budget hotel

The room was clean but a bit run down. The walls are very thin and you can hear the other guests' conversations, TV, and music. It is really close to the freeway and has a lot of noise and has a wall air conditioner that is also very noisy. The WiFi is so slow that it is basically non-existent. You DEFINITELY cannot stream video such as playing a YouTube video. The TV also has really bad reception. You get what you pay for I guess.
