Great location. Walking distance to little italyPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: Near little Italy
Cons: Airport shuttle could start earlier
Location: Lots of great restaurants. Must try is Ironside seafood restaurant. 4 blocks from the hotel
Spent a couple nights. Nice rooftop pool area. There is a restaurant but find it a bit dark. Front staff friendly

Nice hotel, good views, pleasant staffPosted Apr 16, 2014
Pros: The staff, the fact the room was very clean, the view from our room was prefect!
Cons: No fridge - really would have liked one
Location: Near the Civic Center for theatre productions (why we were there). Horton Shopping Mall, Gas Light District for restaurants and entertainment.
There were two disappointing things. 1. no room fridge - I like to have that, it is a convenience I expect to have. 2. The restaurant, which was open seating style, had no staff so we could not order lunch, even though the hotel information said it was open. Otherwise, it is a wonderful hotel - again the staff is excellent and the rooms very clean.

Quiet Cool NeighborhoodPosted Apr 2, 2014
Hotel is about a 20 minute walk away from the gaslamp district and about a 30 minute walk from the Convention Center. Not a good walk to take alone at night but is fine during the day. There are some very cool bars and restaurants right nearby including Queensland and Isola Pizza. Hotel is quiet, clean, and close to the airport. Staff were friendly and so helpful.

Nice comfortable hotel close to downtown San DiegoPosted Mar 27, 2014
Pros: Very comfortable spacious room, good breakfast
Cons: Elevators, main lobby decor
Location: Not relevant - was in transit to desert
Older hotel, centrally located, nicely updated, large comfortable room, very good breakfast buffet with cooked to order eggs, helpful friendly staff. Decor of main lobby is slightly bizarre decor but not off-putting. Expedia room rate was very competitive for downtown San Diego

Weird shower with no tub. Tv didn't work in first room so had to change to another.

Close to airportPosted Mar 16, 2014
Cons: Shuttle service from airport could be improved.
Very pleasant, except for a long wait for the hotel shuttle to pick me up at the airport.

finding faultPosted Mar 16, 2014
Pros: Parking on the street. Close to airport and rental cars. Clean room.
Cons: Friendliness of porter. Make newspapers available.
Location: All very convenient. Good burger place nearby.
Porter gave me wrong instructions re location of elevators. Mainly interested in carrying my (small) bag. Slow elevators. Noisy guests. Smoking on balcony next door. Also inside? The woman threw her butts down on the swimming pool plateau and managed to spit on a passing guest. The butts were not cleaned and stayed on the ground. We had to scrounge for towels at the pool side. They were tiny. Our wake-up call came an hour too late as the hotel forgot that the time had jumped ahead by 1 hour that night!

You can stay, but be aware thatPosted Mar 7, 2014
Pros: Spacious room & the location
Location: Distant from tram, so you can avoid the noise which runs even in the mid night and early morning. Close to Little Italy, many Italian restaurants.
No refrigerator, no safety box, old building with strong artificial fragrance after the cleaning. If you want a regrigerator in you room, you have to pay $20 per day...

Convenient locationPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Good downtown location, nice roof-top pool and hot tub
Location: The one-way streets make it hard to get to the parking lot, but once you what what to do, it's no problem. Very easy access to the freeway, a bit loud
First time I stayed at this hotel. It's easy walking distance to many places downtown, espcially Little Italy. A bit noisy because it's right next to the freeway. We enjoyed watching the planes fly by and land. Overall a good experience (love those cookies!).

Middle of San Diego's best.Posted Feb 18, 2014
Courteous and friendly staff. Very inviting. Good location to walk from Little Italy to Seaport village to Gaslamp Quarter! Parking is over priced for such a tiny garage. Still enjoyed my stay.
