Very comfortable and spacious room.

Pros: The breakfast buffet/ evening reception were a pleasant surprise. The hotel has a great open feel to it and we loved the indoor open space.
Cons: Lines for breakfast /reception were somewhat long. Maybe figure out a way to expedite that process.
Location: Location is perfect and within walking distance to tons of restaurants and the bay.
Every single staff member we encountered was very friendly/ helpfull. The guest room attendants were super friendly and always greeted you with a smile :-)

Great location

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Close to eating establishments, Horten Plaza, Convention center, and Midway. Love the 2 room suite.
Cons: Cannot park car, must use valet service. Be sure and take everything out of the car then you check in! Parking cost is insane $40 a day.
We have visited San Diego annually for many years, and this was the first time we stayed "Downtown". We generally stay at beach houses or hotels in the beach areas. We stayed 5 nights at the Embassy and we were pleasantly surprised. We walked everywhere, and only drove our car one time during the entire stay. The hotel is close to the Midway and one can walk from seaport village to past the Midway.

Pros: Complimentary breakfast and reception, nice room, overall great experience.
Cons: Minor inconveniences - fan in bathroom was a little loud and living room TV remote didn't work. Other than that, great overall stay.
Location: Close to bay. Easy walk to restaurants, shoreline village, and harbor to view boats. Close to 5 fwy, not far from Seaworld, Mission Bay, Old town, etc
Really nice hotel at a very reasonable rate. Very accomodating and friendly staff. Nice views and an overall great experience.

Location, location, location!

Posted Aug 14, 2014
Pros: Breakfast is always good, 2 room suites are nice.
Location: Seaport Village, Midway tour, Little Italy, Gaslamp Quarter, Petco Park, Seal (duck) tour starting point, and lots of good restaurants.
5 days, 4 nights, no rental car... 30 plus miles exploring a vibrant downtown. Excellent seafood options, and don't miss a gourmet taco shop called Puesto!

Great hotel and view, details lacking

Posted Aug 12, 2014
Pros: The view was great and the room was very comfortable.
Cons: Lighting over the coffee station major. Shelf in the shower for shampoo. A bible, phone book & dining mag. Need all day dining in hotel for seniors
Location: The location was great. If we were younger we could have walked everywhere.
View was breathtaking and room size was awesome. But arrived with waste in toilet. Maid had to come and clean again. The coffee station had no lighting and we had to use a flashlight to see. They did not service the coffee station daily, so no creamer etc.No washcloths one day and night staff did not respond for an hour and a half so I went downstairs and they were not happy. Still took another half hour to gets washcloths. There was no Bible and no phone directory. Not even a magazine about the area with dining info. The conceige was not there for two days and gone during the day. She didn't have much knowledge about dining which was important to us since it was our 50th anniversary. They did send up a tray of cheeses which my husband does not eat on our anniversary night. The room was very comfortable but the details count.

The only complaint I had about this hotel was that parking was strictly Valet only. The cost was $40/night plus whatever tips you wanted to give the valet. They need to have a self park facility and charge much less per night for their parking. Other than that, room and facilities were great! The free drinks and complimentary hors d' oeuvres at night was a welcomed treat, not to mention the free breakfast in the morning...

parking was expensive and difficult

Posted Aug 5, 2014
I thought that parking was difficult only Vallet was avalible @$39.00 per day, the driveway was crowded and hard to get at. The pool was small in indoor only. I will not stay again. it was really close to Sea port village. I thought buffet was good for free, very crouded. The loved the Ice cream and Donuts right on the property.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for having chosen to stay with us and taking time to give us feedback on your stay. We are delighted that you enjoyed our popular signature breakfast. It draws large crowds during certain periods and for that reason, we have letters in the rooms giving guests good times to go down for breakfast to avoid crowds. We only offer valet parking and our parking pricing is in line with similar properties in this area and all information and pricing is readily available on both our website and on any third party sites for our guests to view prior to arriving. We are the first location in California to have a Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins combo and we are glad that you enjoyed it. We hope that you will visit us again upon your next visit to San Diego.

The valet parking was chaotic, slow, disorganized and very overpriced.

It is indeed our pleasure to have had you staying with us. We strive to meet and exceed our guests expectations and regret that you had a bad experience with the parking. We only offer valet parking which is displayed on both our website and on any third party sites and our pricing is in line with other properties in the area, we feel as though it is good value given our downtown location. We hope that you will get an opportunity to visit us again in the near future. Regards,
