“Good Location with Home Feel”
A friend and I stayed here for only night when we drove down for a Chargers game. The hotel is in a great location to both Qualcomm Stadium and Old Town San Diego. The beds weren't dressed with the greatest looking sheets, but were very comfortable and a good size. My one recommendation is to bring drinks and food to cook. You're paying for the kitchenette so you might as well use it. This was my one regret. I would definitely stay there again!
“Very convenient to San Diego and Old Town”
Overall a good place to stay. Close to everything and having a small kitchenette helps save money..!!
“Extended Stay America San Diego”
I stayed here because Expedia offered me a deal in tandem with a flight to San Diego. The hotel is a $20 cab fare from the airport on San Diego's "Hotel Circle", a drab, non-descript strip of hotels along a frontage road that abuts the freeway. If you are going to stay in this area rent a car. It is not a pedestrian friendly area at all. It's not too far from the Hillcrest neighborhood and downtown. The hotel itself was a tad run down. My toilet did not flush very well. The kitchenette was deficient in utensils and dishes, which were dirty when I attempted to use them. This is a no-frills operation. Luckily it was quiet and the bed was comfortable, and the staff was helpful, especially Gladys, who allowed me to stow my luggage after check out, and called me a town car to take me to the airport.
“Very convenient location, bare bones hotel”
We stayed for 5 nights and for the most part it was OK but not an exceptional experience. The rooms could have been a little cleaner. We had 2 rooms. One had a fairly nice TV and the other did not. We had 3 bowls and 2 spoons between the two rooms. The desk did round up a few more utinsels and bowls for us so we could all eat cereal at the same time. We did not cook. We did not spend a lot of time in our rooms so the convience of being close to downtown San Diego and close to the freeway was great. The desk staff was very helpful.
“Better luck next time?”
The staff were friendly & helpful and the hotel was conveniently located to many places we wanted to go in the San Diego area. It was situated well off the adjoining freeway and surprisingly quiet. There was a minimal Wi-Fi charge. It was a modest room with a kitchenette and the price was affordable for 3 people (somewhat less expensive than hotels in the area). That was the up side. The down side was that it was poorly kept up and many things needed fixing. The first room we checked in wasn't cleaned, food in the fridge etc. Then we were moved to a second room and the bathtub water dripped all night, the lamp wasn't properly affixed to the wall and the bedspread was stained. The room wasn't very clean, but we were too tired from driving to bounce to any more rooms. We liked the quiet, slept well, felt safe, so we lived with it for the few days we were there. We reported all the problems to the front desk when we left, hoping they'd look into it.
“Would never stay there again”
When we arrived the bed was not clean. The staff took care of it right away. But overall the room was just gross...there was a blood stain on the side of the mattress and the room was dingy and smelled. Would not recommend and would never stay there again.
“Nice, affordable and convenient”
The hotel was at a convenient distance from various spots in the city. San Diego, being a smaller city, everything was within 30 minutes via a rental car. The hotel was neat and quiet. The rooms were neat too and while the kitchen didn't have a ton of utensils, we didn't need that many and I am sure the hotel staff would have provided more if we needed a few more. Overall it was a pleasant experience for us. The check-in was at 3pm and we just thought that there might be an open suite when we landed which was around noon but the hotel was fully occupied. So we had to spend some time until the check-in time. So we went and had lunch and then went to the beach to while away the time until check in. The hotel was also right by the freeway which also helps.
“OK”
This hotel was nothing fancy, it was ok. Fine for somewhere to sleep if you aren't planning on staying at the hotel a lot. It was fairly dirty, dogs everywhere but for the most part, it did the trick.
“not impressed at all”
Service SUCKED....horrible! Definitely not worth what I paid to stay there
