Good valuePosted Mar 3, 2014
This hotel is well located. It's a short drive to the zoo and Balboa Park. It's also within walking distance of a number of restaurants. Expedia needs to update their info . Parking is $20 a night, not $17 as posted. Breakfast was disappointing.
One Night StayPosted Mar 3, 2014
Staff not very friendly. Breakfast was a chore. There was one toaster which averaged 4 mins per person. There were no trays, and the staff could not even provide salt and pepper packets. I paid to much for poor service.

ok hotelPosted Mar 2, 2014
There was construction going on so the restaurant was closed, which is fine, but we couldn't even order a soda from room service. The ice machine was broken on our floor, and the one below us. And parking should not be $20 for a subpar hotel, i would expect that price from a really nice hotel.

Hotel was conveniently located walking distance to Little Italy and a short cab ride away from Gaslamp Quarter.

Good downtown locationPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Location, breakfast bar, indoor parking
Cons: Cleanliness, expensive parking fee
Location: I went to the opera at the downtown civic theater. The hotel is only a few blocks away and is easily freeway accessable
My room was well appointed, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. There was, however a musty smell in the room. After taking a shower, there was some water on the floor and when I wiped it up with the bath mat, the mat was very dirty as if the floor had not been cleaned in awhile. The breakfast was nice with cereal, fresh fruit, breads, hard boiled eggs, coffee and juice. Parking was inside, but be aware that they charge a whopping $20 a day to park on top of the room rent and additional fees, so the hotel appears to initially charge reasonable rates, but with the extra fees quickly becomes a lot more expensive. While it may not be my first choice, I would return if my first choice was not available.

Great value for downtown San Diego hotel!Posted Feb 16, 2014
This hotel is a great value for a clean, very comfortable hotel right in downtown San Diego!! Underground parking is easy, beds are comfortable, continental breakfast was a nice bonus, front desk staff was friendly, welcoming and very helpful!! Leave your car and take a taxi to your destination! Approx. $7.00 fare and only a couple of minutes, one way from hotel to heart of Gaslamp. Well worth it!!
Lower price than most but not much elsePosted Feb 12, 2014
Pros: Location (though entry access was tricky)
Cons: Add laundry room Improve internet access Improve breakfast options
Location: Close to downtown bars, restaurants Close to the US Midway museum
Although the location is good relative to downtown and local attractions we experienced four major problems. - Very poor internet access - No laundry room - Unimpressive breakfast buffet and facilities - High parking fees The contact with the staff was minimal but good. The room was clean but unimpressive.

No parking!!Posted Feb 10, 2014
Pros: Clean, comfortable room.
Cons: Parking needs to be available for guests!
Location: Very convenient to La Jolla & all areas of San Diego. Conveniently close to the freeway. Did not explore the area as was using it en route back to LA
I needed to stay over in San Diego for one night after working late in the area. Arrived to be told the parking was already 'sold out'. I've never experienced that at a hotel before. Having a lot of equipment in the car and luggage - as one does when arriving at a hotel! - I was told to park on the street, or try a couple of other lots. No offer to help unload and park the car, take the keys or offer any valet service. In all my years of travel I've never known a hotel to not have parking available. The staff weren't very accommodating and even though they had short-term spaces clearly available, would not be flexible and allow those spaces to be used. The hotel itself is fine but not in a good area so it was not ideal to have to park a couple of blocks away and walk back at that time of night.
