“Great Experience”

We had a great weekend. The staff was friendly & helpful. The atmosphere wonderful, the continental breakfast fantastic. The room was clean & comfortable. Restaurants, the beach and the bay are all within walking distance. Next time we go we'll rent bicycles to check out the residential area and shoreline. Boat rentals are also just a short walk away. This hundred year old mansion has so much character and provided a relaxing no hassle get away. Was sorry to see the weekend end. Will definitely return.

“Delightful boutique hotel”

Directly across the street from the Del and the beach, 5 minutes from the Naval Base (actually within walking distance), and in the beautiful, clean, interesting downtown area but very quiet and laid back. The staff was very friendly and helpful, breakfast was elegant and delicious, there were plenty of places to sit and read or visit and the pool was so pretty. The mattresses are so comfortable we didn't want to get up. We were awakened every morning by birds singing. The only small concern is parking but it wasn't an issue. We loved it and found it well worth the cost. Certainly mush less than the Del.

“Great Value on Coronado Island”

The service at Glorietta Bay Inn couldn't have been better. The rooms were small, but larger rooms were available at a higher rate. Coronado Island is beautiful and Glorietta Bay Inn is a great, reasonable cost option on the Island. The GBI is directly across the street from the famous Hotel Del Coronado. The fee continental breakfast was very good.

“The place to stay on Coronado”

We were first given a "contemporary" room, meaning not one in the historic mansion. It was spacious and comfortable, but we were not comfortable on the ground floor and requested a room on the second floor. Our belongings were moved to the mansion (for the same price as the contemporary room) while we were gone the next day. While the room in the mansion was somewhat smaller, it felt as if we were staying at someone's luxurious house. Nice furnishings and fabrics! Plus historic touches like an old-fashioned skylight in the bathroom that let in lots of light. In the mansion, we were treated to chocolates and chocolate chip cookies at turn-down. Ice-cold milk was available in the lobby of our floor. In addition, cookies and lemonade were available in the main floor lobby every evening. In the morning, we had hard-boiled eggs, Danish, bagels, toast, cereal (hot and cold), fruit, juices (orange, cranberry, and apple), coffee, and hot tea. Although seating is available inside, we ate on the veranda, where the birds were constant companions. With the Hotel del Coronado across the street, it was the best location possible. We could hang out and eat over at "The Del" during the day and come back to our much quieter and less expensive hotel room at the Glorietta Bay Inn. It was perfect!

“Perfect Place in a Perfect Town.”

Almost tempted not to right this review, as I want to keep this place a secret. Hotel staff, cleanness of rooms and hotel we impeccable. Also perfect location to get to bike paths, and to just wonder around town. Very little driving needed as everything is close by, and parking was excellent. There is no downside to this hotel, and I don't think you can beat it for value for money. Hotel was nice and quite, however enough amenities for our two kids to have a blast. Will definitely being staying there again.

“Well worth looking into!”

We made last minute reservations and upon arriving, were told that our room was above the entryway to one of the hotels parking lots. I asked about how much noise we would hear as cars came and went beneath us and was told it was nominal. The clerk could tell I was apprehensive, then offered two other room options that were away from the parking area, without charging us an upgrade. The staff was very polite and helpful, always greeting us with a smile. I would definitely stay here again!

“Small, noisy room”

The "standard" room was nicely appointed, but was quite small. On the second night we were awakened by a persistent sound that rattled the window. We couldn't locate the source, but the front desk representative sent a maintenance person right away to check it out. He said he thought it was the air conditioning unit on the building adjacent to our hotel. (It sounded like some type of construction equipment to me.) When the maintenance person reported the situation to the front desk, the agent called and offered to move us to a different room in another part of the hotel. We were appreciative of this offer, but clearly the hotel was not fully booked, and it seems as if the source of the rattling noise condition was well known to the staff. The hotel should mark the first room we were given as "off limits," until the condition that caused the noise if permanently rectified.
