We just needed a place the night before our son's fencing tournament in Escondito. We chose Rancho Bernardo because it was close and had good reviews. It was EXCELLENT. I really thought the staff was up to something because every single one of the people from the Valets to the Front staff to the Room Service woman were all, all, smiling and offering to assist in every way immediately. I asked about the mini bar (there are none in the rooms) and right away I was personally escorted to the main bar to get a drink to take back to my room. I was standing in the lobby just glancing around and a young man came up and asked if he could help and when I asked about an ATM he walked me right down to it.
We just needed a place to sleep for the night, we will be back to this place then next time we head down to the San Diego area. I expected an old fogey golf club and discovered a great hotel.
