Just what I needed

Pros: It was very clean and the location was ideal. I am a San Diego native home for a visit and traveled all over the county. Enjoyed my stay
Cons: The room smelled slightly like cigarette smoke. Although I did not make a request either way, a good air deodorizer would be a great idea
Location: This hotel is ideal for visiting all of San Diego's attractions. In San Diego, freeway access is key. It's perfect.
The staff was extremely professional, friendly, sincere and thorough in explaining all charges. The room was very clean. This is not a high-end hotel with many services, but a clean, basic hotel with an excellent location. It is ideal for a visit to San Diego. I will definitely be staying here again.

No Thrills hotel

Pros: The staff was nice, directed me to where we could have a nice Mexican dinner.
Cons: no sec deposit, free wi-fi
Location: close to the zoo, sea world and the nude bar across the street
You have to pay a $25 sec deposit on the room for damages on top of the room rate, if you want internet you need to pay $5, no Continental breakfast they offer tea and coffee in the lobby. And there is a nude bar across the street that has bright neon lights.

Unpleasaant

Front desk very unpleasant. He didn't seem happy with his job. Took too long to check in, computer issues. After going to bed, about 3:30am, maintenance guy out in the Halls yelling & using foul language. He seemed unhappy that someone needed his help fixing something. Yelled at a guest. Had loud neighbors, banging on the doors & arguing. Very bad experience, will not stay there again. Being close to an adult facility didn't help. I've never stated in such a horrible place in my life. Sad.

Cons: do not charge for the WiFi connection
Location: the location was okay, not the best but okay
The room was clean, so was the bath room and fixtures, overall not a bad room for the money

Close to where I needed to be

Location: Close to SeaWorld and Mission Beach
I was pleasantly surprised. After reading the reviews I was a little worried. Beds were brand new, room even had a mini fridge\freezer. Decent place and close to sea world and mission beach. No luxuries but if you plan on just sleeping there it is perfect. Was very quiet and clean(tub did have rust)) no big deal though.

Didn't expect much, but didn't get that either...

Pros: In the end. Nothing.
Cons: Staff's ability to listen to customers. Staff communication. Cleaning of floors. Staff overall.
Location: Location may look bad, but less than a mile away from nicer locales in all directions. 2 nude bars next door if that helps build a picture of location
Bad experience. The front desk accidentally kept my ID after checking in and then got it back to me, but for some reason, kept calling my room way to early in the morning or way to late at night to tell me they had my driver's license even after I repeatedly told them I was looking right at it and even showed it to their faces. It is more than obvious that the staff doesn't communicate with each other very well which is surprising considering the consistently loud walkie talkie chatter provided by most of the housekeeping and facilities staff. One of the desk staff argued with me on the phone and openly laughed when I told him that I had my driver's license in my hand and was looking right at it. Incredibly insulting. He just dismissed whatever I was trying to tell him and repeated himself in a very patronizing tone... "Noooooo... We have your license here at the desk." I finally just laughed and said "ok", then hung up. I spoke to the manager and informed him of everything in a lighthearted tone and tried to laugh it off. Then two more calls, one around 7:00am and one after 10:00pm telling me they had my license. Both calls woke up our babies which then kept us awake for some time because of it. We actually missed out on a majority of our planned day because we ended up having to catch up on sleep due to the staff. We also had to go and have our room keys reactivated not once, not twice, but thrice. Finally, white sox had black feet from the filthy carpet.

Good location

Good location, close to Sea World. Office Staff was very good. The carpet was so dirty, the hotel needs mantaince.
