Old, renovated, but good quality hotel

Pros: old-style character, but very good hotel staff were great location was excellent
Location: short walk to shoreline (one block) short walk to shops and restaurants (one block to a few blocks)
This hotel is an older building that has been renovated over the years. It has character (think old-style sinks and elevators) but we liked it a lot. It is in a great location one block from the beautiful shores and seals, and there are tons of shops and restaurants very close. The rooms are smaller than a typical newer hotel, and it doesn't have the latest looking facilities. But it is a good hotel, the rooms were clean, the hotel staff were excellent, and the location is great. We stayed here 3 nights during the Christmas week and had no complaints.

Pros: It transports you to past times at la Jolla offering a well preserved and restored building
Location: You have everything to do near
It is a nice well preserved historic building with a great localization

Easy and relaxed

Location: In the heart of La Jolla, everything within walking distance
Very nice stay, they don't have staff falling all over themselves waiting to open every door for you but that is what I liked so much. Everything was easy.

Good location but too noisy! Wouldn't recommend it

Pros: Good location and the rooms are nice.
Cons: Fix the air conditioners and carpet the floors.
Location: Lots of nice restaurants close by.
Noisy air-conditioner in another room reverberated through the wall and kept me awake all night. I asked to be moved at 4 am in the morning because I couldn't stand it anymore. The new room was below another room and as they all have floorboads I could hear the people upstairs klomp up and down for hours at a time in the morning .. so I couldn't sleep in. I got this for the next three days. I have since moved to another hotel and it is blissfully quiet in comparison.

A restful hotel in a lovely, safe location

Pros: The hotel is located a block away from the ocean and within easy walking distance of the boutique shops in La Jolla - so I did not need to hire a car.
Cons: Lovely - just the way it is.
Location: Plenty of choice for eating out within walking distance. The bus ride north to Westfield shopping mall is very scenic and south goes into San Diego.
I stayed in one of the garden suites which are arranged around a delightful gated courtyard. These rooms come equipped with a small kitchette that has a fridge, so I was able to keep fresh milk to make a proper cup of tea in the morning.
