Close to convension centerPosted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Nice room design with lots of floor space.
Cons: Clean the carpets. HDMI external port on the cabinet didn't work.
My wife and I came for a conference at the convention center, which was really close. We were on the 3 floor right across from the gym and spa. The room was nice. However, every morning at 6ish we woke to a thump that vibrated through the room once every 5-15 minutes at random and then randomly throughout the day and evening. We called the front desk and told them about the noise, and they told us that there was nothing they could do. The stair case was right next to the room, and you could hear people going up and down the stair, it was loud when you hear the high heel. The prices of the items of mini bar were outrageous. Sunday afternoon and night was crazy with intoxicated college age partiers. The televisions were nice, but the menus and changing channels were so slow; it would take 10-15 seconds after you push a button for it to respond. The HDMI port on the cabinet did not work. For the price we paid, I was expecting something much better.

Good Location-Young Crowd-NoisyPosted Jul 17, 2014
Nice contemporary hotel in a great location right at the entrance of the Gaslamp District. Plenty of Restaurants and bars within walking distance. There was a wedding on the same floor as the pool so the pool closed early, which was unfortunate. Definitely a younger crowd so if you're looking to party, this is the place for you. Could hear the music from the fourth floor bar until 4am&people knocking on doors all hours of the night. If your're in your 20's or single hotel is probably the place for you.

Nice but...Posted Jul 15, 2014
Great hotel. Great location and super fun. But...do not get a room anywhere near the maintenance elevator shaft. The stench is terrible.

Close to everythingPosted Jul 11, 2014
Pros: Overall nice facilities.
Cons: Free coffee until noon for all guests.
Location: Everything in Gaslamp quarter.
Not a bad hotel, but the toilet didn't work properly and the television guide system is a joke. Other than that everything was pretty decent.

Close to PetcoPosted Jul 8, 2014
Although hotel was convenient for Petco Park, accommodations were small and less than luxurious. This is a party hotel with constant inappropriate adult behavior occurring in all public areas-requiring hotel security in elevators, lobby, etc. Hallways smell of a variety of foul odors. Choose Omni across the street! Not to mention $40 per night parking fee....

SF Giants gamePosted Jul 7, 2014
Cons: Restroom doors in the room was glass, NO privacy at ALL!!!!
Location: Super close to Pet Co for a Giants game. Food / Bars in Gas Lamp are very cool!
Hotel is...just OK. Never ate there as it was tooo expensive and the restaurants on 5th & 6th were amazing.

Nice Hotel near Petco Park and many restaurantsPosted Jul 7, 2014
Stayed one night during July 4th weekend! Hard Rock is definitely a Party Hotel! The pool party and Nightclubs were very fun! If you like to party and have a good time, then I would highly recommend this place!!

OverratedPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The greatest thing about this hotel is it is walking distance to the Gas Lamp Quarter, the Padres stadium, and Sea Port Village.
Cons: Have more bicycles on hand for rentals or allow for reservations.
Location: Shop, eat, and watch a baseball game. Union Kitchen &Tap had great food at reasonable prices.
I really expected a lot more out of the room for the price we paid. The room was clean, but a little cramped. I was excited about the rain shower and giving that a try. While my husband was in the shower I discovered that the air conditioning did not work. The maintenance man was prompt, but could not fix it, so we were moved to another room. Same room, but just a tub, no rain shower! The pool was closed for a 21 and over party that night, so the kids (13 and 14) were disappointed since they were looking forward to the pool all day. They did check it out the next day and said it was small. We all love music and a fun atmosphere, but this was more like a night club pick up joint. This is not the place to stay for families.

Bossy staff, otherwise a nice placePosted Jul 6, 2014
Very disappointing staff attitude. The valet kept yelling at me that my car is in his way instead of helping me figure out the check in process. The receptionist had to go through his questionnaire before he gave us a key. What if I don't care about music in my room and just want a quick check in? Too bad, it's about them, not about you as the customer. If it weren't 4th of July with most rooms in town booked I would have picked any other hotel. Otherwise thw room was clean and quiet but you can get that for much cheaper and without the attitude.
