“great hotel for anyone”

everyone was courteous and helpful. the location was perfect, the pool was spectacular. everything about the stay exceeded our expectations.

“Great hotel, but not immediate beach access.”

The hotel, facilities, including the restaurant were excellent. Only disappointment was the access to the ocean. The web page lead one to believe that the hotel had beach access when in fact it was across the highway, past a state campground, and then down a wooden staircase to the beach. Otherwise, the hotel was great and we will return.

“Anniversary trip”

The hotel had just opened, and I had planned on surprising my wife with a weekend at this spa/hotel for our anniversary. I was bitterly disappointed to find, after i checked in, that the spa would not be open for several weeks. Nothing on the web site mentioned this being the case. We were advised that we would be upgraded to a "partial ocean view" room. This room (#1028) SHOULD NOT be sold as an upgrade. It takes uncommon effort to view the ocean from this room. The staff were EXCEPTIONAL, with the valet staff welcoming me back at each return visit. Every time we crossed paths with staff, they were friendly and smiling, making us feel at home. The pool and spa are wonderful, and we could have easily stayed out by the pool all day. We did eat at the restaurant, and I will say it is not my style. Not bad,it feels like they are trying to be just a bit more upscale than necessary. Food was delicious, portions small. Overall, enjoyed the room, pleased by staff, and love the location.

“At the beach”

Chandlers food was over priced, appetizers were very weak. Not much of a beach, 90% river rocks, but still very pretty. The pool is nice, big and warm. There are gas fire pits around the pool to get warm after swimming very nice touch. There is a shuttle that can take you to a normal beach about 1/4 a mile away.

“Great Getaway”

My wife and I wanted a short getaway from L.A. and found the hotel and location perfect. Located in south Carlsbad near Leucadia and Encinitas, the hotel was a great way to unwind with the comforts associated with the Hilton name.

“A Grand Getaway!”

It is a wonderful property!! The valet staff were fabulous...front desk very accommodating and the environment poolside with the fire pits was enchanting. Very well appointed and quiet...relaxing. I was sorry not to stay another 3 days.
