Great Value

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Pros: I felt it was an excellent value and the staff was super friendly
Cons: Beds
Location: Wine tasting
My wife and I stayed 1 night here to attend a wedding in the area. The Front Desk staff was awesome. Super friendly and were more than happy to assist us with a special request. The breakfast was great. Maybe a little expensive if you choose to go Continental style but for an all you can eat, it was priced fairly. Although we did not attend the Happy Hour, I felt that this was an added bonus. Rooms were clean and basic. The only real issue were the beds. If you like a soft squishy bed then this is the place for you. I like a more firm bed but that is me. Great value and would consider staying again if it was for a one night-er just because of the bed

Awesome hotel in retirement community

Posted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: It was very quiet, calm and relaxing. The location was perfect, it was an easy drive to the safari park.
Location: Safari park, There are several stores nearby, Gas stations including the 7eleven, target, pet store, Food market, Vietnamese and Thai food.
For my birthday I flew in to Vegas, then drove to San Diego, and then LosAngeles. In San Diego I stayed at the Hilton. The hotel itself is beautiful. It was very clean, and the staff are amazing. I advised them I was there for my birthday and they provided me and my guests with free breakfast tickets. (breakfast was amazing, and all you can eat) For check in, I simply walked to the counter and provided my ID and credit card to put on file, and the receptionist handed me an ice cold water and my room key as well as directions to parking and my room. I literally took less than 5 minutes, they are amazing. I ended up paying for an extra night so i could spend all day in their pool. It was quiet, and pretty empty all day until nighttime. I got a nice tan and chatted with some very nice guests. The hotel is about 10 mins from the zoo's safari park so that is why I chose the hotel. At nighttime there is nothing to do nearby. A gas station attendant advised us that the cities bar-- the elephant-- was closed, And that the area is a retirement community. So if you are looking for a calm relaxing vacation, or have work to do, this is the place to be. No loud kids just peace and quiet. Room comes with a kitchenette including a refrigerator and microwave . There is also a business desk with lamp, Ethernet cable, and ergonomic chair. If you want to go out after 9 or 10 everything will be closed and you will need to drive downtown about a 30 min drive..

perfect location for west coast family visits

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: location. room cleanliness with great attention to detail.
Cons: as mentioned above, friendliness of front desk staff.
Location: spent all our time with west coast family members. have done touristy activities in past visits. great restaurants.
third stay at Hilton Garden Inn location. have been very pleased with past stays but did notice difference in friendliness of front desk staff. one and only time during 6 day stay that we were greeted in any way (meaning a simple hello) was upon check-in. even met a young couple in elevator who commented about two front desk employees being "as friendly as rattlesnakes".

Pros: It has a garage! Pull in under the hotel and get right into the elevator to go up to your floor. Protects rental cars.
Cons: Signage
Location: Walking distance (.6 mi) to Rancho Bernardo shopping plaza. Restaurants galore.
Flew out to visit family--wanted a reasonably priced hotel. The hotel is clean and quiet. Has restaurant, and is close to shopping, dozens of restaurants in town, and 1 mile from highway access. This hotel hosts nightly coffee and sweets--very inviting!

Great location

It was very good, except for one annoying noise that was right above my room, it sounded like the air conditioning motor.

Out Dated and LUMPY BEDS

Posted Jun 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Staff...from check in to check out were 51/2 star quality. the room #236 was as far as sleeping comfort, 2 star. It appears it's time for the hotel to upgrade it's bed and baths.

We were very happy with this hotel!

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Pros: Beautiful décor, bright, sunny public areas, charming pool area, beautiful courtyard off the dining room.
Cons: The automated wake-up call system wasn't working. The staff was unaware of this at the time, so they made the call manually until it was repaired.
Location: The hotel is under 30 minutes drive from Old Town where we toured San Diego highlights on their famous trolley. The Wild Animal Park is also nearby.
I wanted to stay at a hotel that was in close proximity to my son's home in Rancho Bernardo. The Hilton Garden Inn was within walking distance. I was so very pleased with all the amenities, lovely décor, and the staff's desire to please its guests. Our room was huge!! We had a small balcony overlooking the pool which was an added perk. After I made the reservation, I had requested that the room not be too close to the freeway, but instead over the courtyard or pool; my request was granted.
