Beautiful view. Friendly people. Great location.Posted Sep 14, 2014
I think it's the best downtown hotel. Just out of the mix of the big hotels, this one lets you relax but still be super close to gas lamp. The foot bridge gets you to the ball park in 1 min. I also found it easier to get on the freeway from this location. Loved it.

Would be nice to have bar fridge in room. Great location on waterfront & easy to walk places.

Close to Bay, great city view, crapy roomPosted Sep 11, 2014
Not what I expected for a family with kids 9 year old. Nothing complimentary, 30 fee parking. Room looked beaten up. I guess the only plus was the bed or was too tired to notice other defects. Will not come here or any hilton again. Not my cup of tea!

Nice Hotel within walking distancePosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: * Right near the water and close to the Coronado Ferry * Near Transit System for cheap transportation * Free Internet Access in Public Spaces
Cons: * House Keeping * The cost of dining * The pool could have had a deep end, as it was only 3ft deep.
Location: You really have to walk a distance or get a taxi to do anything near by.
The hotel was beautiful and is close to the bay. I enjoyed watching the sail boats in the morning from my hotel window. I also liked the fact that it was tucked away and at the end of the tourist path, so that it was still close enough to walk to dozens of shops and local attractions but it still kept quiet enough that it was relaxing when I wanted to wind down. The only concerns I have about the hotel would be the room keeping and the prices for dining within the hotel. We stayed 4 nights and our room was not cleaned entirely on one particular day with garbage not being taken out and pizza boxes left on the desk, empty pop bottles not disposed of and left near the TV. On another day, the pizza boxes were moved out of our room but placed on a window ledge that was just outside our room door. The must have signaled a "pizza drop" location because the pizza boxes multiplied during the day from other guests leaving them on the window sill. Finally, house keeping did not come at all which meant that there were no clean towels to shower with after a long day at the beach. The prices for dining are expensive! We ate at the Fox Grill the first night we were there and my husband and I had burgers and fries and one beverage a piece. The bill was almost $50.00!

Water and city viewPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: modern look
Location: Great location if you dont mind walking a mile to the restaurants and bars, just accross the street from convention center and Petco park.
loved staying here, short walk to petco park and gaslamp restaurants and the best water and bridge view we could ask for.

Nice place 2 look @ but wouldn't want 2 stay therePosted Sep 8, 2014
Clean modern hotel, but was extremely disappointed in the pool facilities, especially given way it was advertised online as having separate kids & adult pools; they DO NOT. The kids pool is a few feet from adult pool & size of postage stamp, so all kids were in adult pool. Loud music blaring all day long and no where to sit. My family & I could not therefore utilize the facilities & the pool was the reason I booked this place. No food to be had after 11pm. When I informed front desk staff upon checkout that a bachelor party across the hall had kept us up half the night, he asked me to "prove" it. He did comp the outrageous parking fee of $30/ night.

Comfortable clean hotel right next to the bayPosted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: right next to the bay
Cons: self parking should be free
Location: take a morning or evening walk down the main walkway and enjoy the ocean breeze
The room was clean. We requested a high floor and two extra pillows and both those requests were honored. The hotel been right next to the bay allows you to take a morning or evening walk down the main walkway and enjoy the ocean breeze. What we found a bit irritating is the high $35 parking charge daily added to the hotel stay. We expect self parking to be free.

Hilton San Diego Bay FrontPosted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: We like the location.
Cons: Attitude of the staff and attention to detail on basic maintenance. When we reserve a room type we expect to receive it.
Location: Close to many restaurants and night spots, water, airport.
When we arrived we were told the type of room we had reserved was no longer available due to some mechanical failure and that 6 floors were not being used. This was a blatant false statement as the hotel was full and clearly our room had been given away. We were compensated with a less than desirable room with a slight discount (we had no other place to stay over a holiday weekend). We were given breakfast coupons but when we went to the restaurant they were essentially out of food and were clearly understaffed for the amount of guests. When our room was cleaned we only received 1 bath towel and were told they were being cleaned and another would be delivered. This did not happen in 2 days despite frequent calls to housekeeping. The entire staff had a very "care less" attitude.
