Pretty good stay

We stayed 2 nights then added a 3rd night but they would not give us the same rate we got the first 2 nights at. BEWARE its Valet parking only at $41 a day plus you have to tip the Valet when they get your car then tip the bell hop because we needed help unloading our luggage when we arrived at midnight. Then nowhere on the expedia info for this hotel did it say theres a $12.95 a day charge for in room wifi internet that we didnt even need once i showed them the expedia add compared to the other hotels that listed their wifi fees they gave us complimentary wifi during our stay and did so without attitude. Our room was on the 6th floor right next to the train tracks which sucked the night we arrived after a 7 hour drive it was midnight and they were attaching new cars to the train so it was constant metal slamming and loud noises for several hours. The 2nd night the train was more quiet the 3rd night a lot of horn honking from the train and more cars being attached loud slamming. Pretty rough to sleep housekeeping was awesome with giving us more towels and not knocking on surrounding rooms yelling "HOUSEKEEPING" at 8:00 am. Our little one kept us up late so we slept a little later than normal. Staff was very friendly and concierge helpful with getting us safari zoo tickets although no discount offered. Rooms super clean didnt see anything gross at all and trust me I look because I get grossed out really easy by seeing stains or dirty showers or gross carpet. Nice view

Pros: Close to restaurants in Gaslamp area
Cons: Upgrade the lobby
Location: Ships, water, zoo shopping
It was fine. I think it looked a little run down and not as nice as the hilton across the street near the beach.

Pros: Cleanly, nice, staff
Cons: Valet is overpriced; not at the fault of service or staff
Location: Location is perfect; great restaurants, bars, and clubs very nearby as well as an enjoyable walk or short drive to Balboa or Mission Parks.
Great staff, great location to gas lamp; the bay front may have more amenities; particularly beach amenities, but these aren't far. Consider where you wish to spend your time and choose accordingly, the rooms are fantastic and again staff is great.

No breakfast omelette

The room was generally clean & close to the convention center. Problems included: broken sink stopper in the bathroom. It is also the first hotel that I have stayed in that failed to put the room service breakfast that I called to order the night before into any system. The following morning I was told that they had no order because I had not completed the form and put it on the door. I had been assured by the person who had answered the form that it would placed for the following morning.
