Nice hotel-adequent

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Close to restaurants in Gaslamp area
Cons: Upgrade the lobby
Location: Ships, water, zoo shopping
It was fine. I think it looked a little run down and not as nice as the hilton across the street near the beach.

Great; choose over bayfront for city proximity

Posted Apr 1, 2014
Pros: Cleanly, nice, staff
Cons: Valet is overpriced; not at the fault of service or staff
Location: Location is perfect; great restaurants, bars, and clubs very nearby as well as an enjoyable walk or short drive to Balboa or Mission Parks.
Great staff, great location to gas lamp; the bay front may have more amenities; particularly beach amenities, but these aren't far. Consider where you wish to spend your time and choose accordingly, the rooms are fantastic and again staff is great.

No breakfast omelette

Posted Mar 8, 2014
The room was generally clean & close to the convention center. Problems included: broken sink stopper in the bathroom. It is also the first hotel that I have stayed in that failed to put the room service breakfast that I called to order the night before into any system. The following morning I was told that they had no order because I had not completed the form and put it on the door. I had been assured by the person who had answered the form that it would placed for the following morning.

Third floor is the party floor...

Posted Feb 24, 2014
We upgraded for a corner room on the third floor, only to realize that it was probably the party floor. We stayed for two nights and were awaken by really loud guests a few times every night. It was most unpleasant. Overall the staff was nice, the room comfortable, but beware of the ad pictures. The bath did not have jets. The pool area is barren an uninviting. The hotel bar really average. It is definitely not a place to get pampered. It is catered mainly to business travelers. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this is not the place for you.

Comfortable stay in the the Deluxe King.

Posted Feb 21, 2014
Pros: Beds. pillows, Ambiance of the surrounding city.
Cons: Drains or something because when the water gets out of the shower the floor is a pool. Although there were enough towels to dry it
Location: A few streets down from PetCo Park, Across the street from the railway and Convention Center. Spike Africa's - Dinner The Mission - Breakfast GradeA
I would definitely say it was a nice stay overall. It was a really comfortable room, I enjoyed the king size bed with more than enough space for my guest and myself. The restroom was an average size, comfortable toilet, large counter next to sink, bathtub was average and clean. Great water pressure (surprisingly). I was confused as to the lack of toilet paper when I arrived, but after I had left and came back to the hotel I asked someone at the front desk. They were quick to have it put in my room before I had gone up the elevator. Although the Do Not Disturb sign was there... we weren't in the room so that's fair. The small balcony view was a great window for that nice breeze of San Diego airflow. The television was better than average and had many channels to choose from. Internet was a surcharge but I was lucky enough to use my Hotspot via my iPhone. Valet parking is pricey, but I would suggest not having a car in the Gaslamp District anyway unless you enjoy looking for parking for an hour. But the valet are friendly and will have your car in no-time. Sadly I wasn't able to tip the first valet to greet us (only had my card on me), I didnt catch his name but I had told him that I was coming back in an hour for the car, so he left it out in the front for us. So at least the parking expense was not that bad of an experience. Rooms are decent sized, enough lighting considering the amount of lamps in the room.
