Location is very good, close to many attractions.

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Lighting. Patio furniture.
Location: Old Town, beaches, golf, zoo, are all close and easily accessed.
The staff was helpful with information on the many local attractions. One of the restaurants was being redone and was under construction for the whole week we were there. The lighting in our room left a lot to be desired. One of the lights didn't work at all and was not repaired despite our several requests to put in a new bulb or find the cause of it not working. The parking fee and "resort fee" seemed a bit excessive.

Out of so many fantastic options to stay in beautiful sunny San Diego, we are honored you chose to stay with us and it was our pleasure to have welcomed you to The HILTON SAN DIEGO RESORT & SPA. It sounds like you fully enjoyed all the great attractions that are within a couple of miles or less from the resort We will certainly share your kind words about our hospitable and knowledgeable team and while continually making improvements throughout the resort, your constructive comments will be taken into consideration. We’re sorry your lighting issue was not addressed immediately and encourage you to share your experience with us personally so that we can follow up with the departments to insure this issue does not happen in the future. I can assure you this is atypical of our normally high standards and commitment to excellent guest service. The very happiest of holiday wishes to you, DON DENNIS Managing Director

Great location

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Very tropical feel. Great, helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: Lighting in the rooms. More hot water in the shower.
The hotel was located in a great location. I 5 was right there so getting around was a breeze. The lighting in our room was terrible...very dim. I hate rain shower heads because there no pressure. The water was on full hot and it was still not hot enough for me.

Less than average hotel

Posted Nov 28, 2014
I got to the hotel very late and tired to realize there was power outage and all the staff told me was my resort fee would be waived. I felt that was insensitive because everything is not about money. The bath was dirty with hair strands and WC wouldn't flush. Informed the housekeeper but nothing was done. The plumbing issue was eventually sorted out.

Our guest feedback is very important to us and we apologize for the concerns you had with the level of sensitivity and accommodations received during the power outage. We are sad to read we fell short of an exceptional experience with us, and look to use these situations to improve our overall service and guest satisfaction. Should you consider giving us another opportunity to welcome you back, we would be happy to the true hospitality and service we are known for at HILTON SAN DIEGO RESORT & SPA. Kindly, Don Dennis

Nice hotel close to water and parks

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Facilities and grounds were well kept. The The room was comfortable. The parking fee is outrageous. That high fee will make me not want to come back. Make sure the the receptionist tells you that your parking permit is enclosed with your room key because you will get a parking ticket with the threat of towing your vehicle if she doesn't. Unfortunately, my receptionist never told me and I got the ticket.

We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the resort’s facilities and beautiful grounds, but disappointed with the level of communication you received at check in about the parking pass. Though our parking fee is in line with other hotels around the Bay, It is our hope that the discount vouchers presented upon check-in helps alleviate some of the cost. We offer many packages on our website, sandiegohilton.com, that include complimentary parking should you consider staying at HILTON SAN DIEGO RESORT & SPA in the future. Hidden fees

Posted Nov 23, 2014
Pros: the location
Cons: Provide some manners to the guy at the reception in the morning. I expect more from a Hilton.
Hotel was OK but expect to pay other fees than the one with Expedia. You have to pay just to walk adound, even without using any facilities (mandatory). They don't tell you when you arrive and you get an additional bill at the check out. By the way, the guy at the reception in the morning was unpleasant, limit rude. Because of this I will not go there again.

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at our resort. We sincerely apologize that you received less than the friendly and genuinely caring manner that is expected from the Hilton. If your travels lead you back to San Diego I hope you’ll give us another chance to prove that your experience was atypical of the normal high quality standards provided by our team. Your satisfaction is absolutely critical to us, and we hope for the chance to speak with your further and to showcase this in your return travels. Kindly, DON DENNIS Managing Director

Nice hotel on Mission Bay, San Diego, Ca.

Posted Nov 14, 2014
Very nice facilities and staff, swimming pool area was great, plenty of lounge seating and cabanas. Very good restaurant and bar on property, good food and service. Close to old town, Gaslamp district and Mission/ Pacific beaches. Need to have a rental care to get to these locations (not within walking distance) or taxi/ shuttle services are available but will cost you $20 each way.
