"Friendly Staff, Convenient Location, Nice Hotel"
From Check in to Check out our experience was great. The King room with Balcony was nice. We had an issue with a suitcase and the front desk staff sent Michael their head custodian to help. He was able to assist and did so cheerfully. We would definitely stay here again when we get to San Diego again.

Best Western Plus Hacienda Hotel Old Town

4041 Harney St, San Diego - Map
"Lovely hotel on the edge of Old Town"
We are from Canada and enjoyed the Spanish feel of the hotel very much. The hotel is only one block above Old Town and allowed our family to walk there to see the sights and have our meals there. The views are breathtaking, and we were less than a 10 minute drive from everywhere we wanted to go: Seaworld, San Diego Zoo, and Balboa Park. The room was always clean, and had a pull out couch for our third child, which many hotels can't accommodate. It also had a charging station for electronic devices which we took full advantage of. We had a meal one evening on the patio at the Tequila Factory and the fireplaces were going and the staff was so friendly to the children. That meal was the most memorable one of our entire vacation. We will recommend this hotel to anyone looking for San Diego accommodations.

"Clean, great location"
Perfect location in the middle of gaslamp. Room was clean and staff was friendly. The valet service was especially great. Only thing I could possibly say is that there was no fan in the bathroom which seemed a little odd.

"Great location, nicely updated"
We've stayed at this hotel a number of times before. The location is perfect, adjacent to Balboa Park and either a short walk up to Hillcrest or a slightly longer walk downtown. The downside to this property had always been the very dated rooms and interior amenities. So we were pleasantly surprised to see that the rooms have been recently upgraded, with new bedding, furniture, kitchens, bathrooms & climate control. The best place to stay in San Diego if you want to do stuff in the Hillcrest/Balboa Park area.

"Great hotel for the price in Old Town"
I came to San Diego from Philly for a science conference, so I was on a budget. I got this place for ~$100 a night plus $10 a day to park in their lot. The staff was very nice and accommodating. They keep it clean. The free breakfast was solid- eggs, sausage, cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, fruit, waffles. Full cable package and HBO. Comfy bed. You can hop right on route 5 from the hotel to get around, or walk 10 minutes up Congress St. to the bus/trolley to get downtown or elsewhere.
