Disruptive roomies

Posted Jan 26, 2015
Pros: Staff
Cons: No pets allowed
The hotel itself was okay. Staff was very pleasant but the guest next door had a dog that barked most of the night and they were also quite rude.

My Recommended "Go To" East County Stay

Posted Jan 20, 2015
Frequent business traveler to El Cajon/La Mesa of late and this is my go to hotel in the area (7+ stays in a little over a year). Very conveniently and centrally located off Interstate 8 near Grossmont Center makes it only about a 30-minute drive to Downtown San Diego/Petco Park/Lindbergh Field/Zoo/Balboa Park, 25-minute drive to Sea World and the surrounding beaches, 20 minutes to Mission Valley and the football stadium, about 15 minutes to SDSU, 15 minutes to downtown El Cajon, and a 5-minute drive to the local mall and several good restaurants. Plenty of parking, clean rooms, and courteous staff. Restaurant, pool and exercise room on the premises and several fast food restaurants and convenience store within 5 min walking distance mean you don't have to get in the car for necessities, workout, or a quick meal. Amenities for the business traveler include executive guest rooms with mini-fridge, a large desk with multiple power outlets and free wireless internet access. Despite being in the heart of the La Mesa shopping district, the pleasant atmosphere seems relaxed yet secure with minimal disturbances from the surrounding traffic. Overall a great place to stay for business travelers to the East County or San Diego vacationers who want something a little off the beaten path, yet convenient to the local sights. I wouldn't keep coming back if I didn't think it wasn't a great place to stay.

Over-priced for what you get

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Cons: The pillows are MUCH to soft. And the air conditioning controls were broken.
It would be a very nice motel, if the rooms cost half as much as they did...

Noisy

Posted Nov 27, 2014
Pros: Staff was nice. Descent amenities. We used the pool which was nice.
Cons: Noise level. Insulating the walls.
This hotel looks nice and the staff is nice but the walls are thin. You can hear everything and everyone walking and talking around you. It was difficult to sleep the first night because we were by a door and could hear everyone coming in and out. We changed rooms but then could hear guests and employees talking outside our room at all hours. I would not recommend this hotel unless you are a heavy sleeper.
