Family Trip

Posted Apr 11, 2015
Pros: Very clean and close to all major attractions.
Cons: Put a dresser in the room.
Location: We went to Perry's for breakfast. A pretty good mom and pop restaurant that was close. We ate dinner at the Old Town Mexican Cafe, best food ever!
We decided to stay at Hotel Aqua Mar due to its close location to everything. Pros: Close to everything! Old Town, Zoo, Sea World, Gaslamp, PETCO, beach. There is a great coffee shop across the street and it is close to Ralphs. We even caught a movie at the AMC. Cons: Parking is small, rooms are extremely small and there are no dressers, or phones. Hotel staff was helpful but you need to call them if it is after hours. They are not in the office.

Pros: Very clean and the best use of space with attention paid to small details ( lighting, newer shower head and more) making it extremely pleasant.
Cons: It is unlikely that the hotel owners can do much, if anything, about this but...the traffic is really bad and is 24 hours noisy!
Location: The location is optimal: all touristy locations within a few minutes drive. Point Loma Nazarene University very close and accessible as well.
Office staff was accommodating to our late arrival. The extremely small room opened into a clean, attractive and wonderfully efficient place to stay. Newer amenities, everything in super nice shape. And... we are picky about that.

Hello IKEA...

Posted Apr 8, 2015
Walking into front desk and the hotel room, it is very beautiful and new looking. Looks like the hotel company bought everything from IKEA. My 2 nights at the hotel, nobody was ever at front desk, the door was always locked. You had to call a number so someone can meet you to let you inside. The hotel is near Ocean Beach and close to coffee shops/restaurants. (Recommend eating at Jimmy's Famous American Tavern) The hotel room was tile throughout, not dirty carpet, so be sure to bring slippers/sandals if you don't like walking on tile barefooted. The bathroom was beautiful. Fully upgraded. I rented the room with 1 queen bed and a sofa bed and was told that's the largest room they had, so perfect for a family of 4 or 5. I recommend not staying there for more than 2 days because the bed was very uncomfortable. My partner and I tossed the whole 2 nights because it felt like sleeping on an ironing board. You can hear morning traffic even with the windows closed due to the hotel being right off a busy street. The walls are thin and the rooms are so close, so you can hear your neighbors in their room. In all, its a small clean hotel to stay in for a short period of time for the price I paid.

Hotel was nice, modern, and clean.

It was a positive experience. Hotel looks very much like its picture. It is clean, modern decor, and nice. However, it is a small room. The front desk was very friendly and helpful.

Good hotel for long term stay

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Close to shopping, friendly and helpful staff, and laundry facilities for clients.
Cons: Room service should be more than once a week without having to pay for it.
Location: A number of outdoor and indoor malls, theatres and grocery stores nearby.Great bus service to the trains (Amtrak, Coaster), beach and around Oceanside
I stayed for eight days. The hotel was clean and the staff beyond helpful. The room was spacious and the kitchen had a good-sized fridge, microwave, some appliances and enough cooking utensils.

Cons: Call backs if needed
I stayed for only one night I found it comfortable. However I left something in the room and I called two different times regarding the object and both times I was told I would have a call back. I did not get a call back either time. I want my object sent to me and if is no longer on the property I would have appreciated the truth and a call back
