Parking not available

Posted Jan 21, 2015
My room was horribly noisy because it was right next to the housekeeping closet...no point in sleeping in when they're valcuuming at 7 am. Try finding public parking in the dark. Valet is unavoidable and will set you back $42. What kind of hotel doesn't have their own parking for their guests? Don't make my mistake. Don't go here.

Pros: The staff was friendly. The room was clean and was well maintained. They have a bar with a good view of the city.
We were in San Diego for a long weekend to attend a wedding. I called the hotel in advance of our stay to let them know we were going to arrive late in the evening and that we would like to request adjoining rooms with my friend who was also travelling with us. When we arrived, the staff was very friendly and did accommodate my request for adjoining rooms. That evening we went to the hotel bar located on the 9th floor. It had a great view of the city in the evening. It has a very relaxed atmosphere. The rooms were very nice, clean and looked well maintained (e.g., no moldy-looking grout or stained carpets). The beds were standardly good. I was able to sleep on them just fine. The hotel itself has a modern design yet comfortable feel to it. We didn't opt to have our room cleaned by the housekeeping during our stay, so I can't comment on that. Overall, a very good, comfortable hotel.

Close to Petco Park, Gaslamp clubs/restaurants. Free parking on the street Sunday's and holidays. Didn't pay the $41 valet fee.

Very cool hotel to stay at!

Hotel was walking distance to Petco park and Gaslamp restaurants and bars :) We stayed there for New Years. The hotel was very cool retro vibe. The check in was easy. The parking was a little expensive, $41 a night. We got lucky and found a spot across the street to park for free. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfy. We stayed on the 3rd floor and we had a little view of Petco park from our room.

Exceptional hotel in the Gaslamp

Posted Jan 19, 2015
Pros: Everything! First-rate comfort, service, location.
Cons: I didn't try the food, mainly because the options didn't seem particularly inspiring. It might be worth taking another look at the menus and pricing.
Location: There is a lot to see and do nearby. Coronado, Seaport Village, or Horton Plaza are all walk-able. Top tip: get to a hotel bar that overlooks the area
I had been staying at the Town and Country Hotel for a conference in North San Diego and picked the Indigo for a few holiday days in town. This has to be the best value to be had in the city. The room was large, even by US standards, with very modern fittings and a very comfortable bed (so comfortable that I slept through my alarm). Staff were very friendly and helpful too, and although I wasn't traveling with pets, it's great to see that they're made so welcome here. The food options within the hotel are a little expensive, and there's probably better fare to be found in the surrounding parts of the Gaslamp (a few notable places on 10th Ave or Island Ave were Basic and Cafe 222). Location is great but plan out where you'd like to go in the area. Amazing bars and sights in one direction, but I took a wrong turn at one point and was yelled at by a hobo.

Love that the hotel is pet friendly and doesn't charge a fee. The room key is required to operate the elevators which took a little getting use to, but definitely understand why it's necessary (to prevent drunks disturbing guest, I assume). Very clean and up to date decor. The rooftop bar was nice and staff was very friendly
