Beautiful place!Posted Aug 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was a beautiful place - the location was ideal, but after a few days stay no one cleaned our room or replaced our towels. There is no continental breakfast, but the view is lovely. It's a great get away.

We have stayed at Indigo now several times and are always happy with the hotel. The only real issue this time was we paid extra for breakfast when I booked the hotel. It said it was for three but when we got there they give us a voucher for $20 to use and the average price on the menu was $10 so it really only paid for two to eat breakfast. Also, the waiter was very grouchy so he didn't help either. Everything else was great about the hotel. We will go back again.

Nice but overpricedPosted Aug 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
Very interestingly decorated, with very professional front desk, this hotel is nonetheless quite expensive for a place so far back from the beach and with so many little flawed details in the room. This may be a product of supply-and-demand, as rooms in the San Diego area seem to get really expensive on weekends this time of year. But for around $500 there shouldn't be problems like no hot water (only warm), drawers that won't stay shut, blinds that won't pull up, etc. Yes, you can see the ocean from the room, but what you mostly see is a parking area and the backs of several apartment buildings. If the price were a couple hundred dollars less, the view would be fine. The shower, however, would still be too cold.

great all aroundPosted Aug 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
You have a problem with the cabinet configuration for the mini refrigerator units. The frig removes heat to keep the contents cold. The heat that is removed has to vent somewhere and the frig is essentially in a closed box. So the cabinet inside gets heated and has to use a lot more energy to try to cool. So the frig doesn't get as cool and you are using a lot more electricity in the process. If you drill some large holes in the back (keyhole) or install a vent it will work much better

Don't stay in the "bunker" or sunken roomsPosted Jul 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
Service was good and the hotel is undergoing some improvements, but our experience was not great. I am sure on the whole or if we had another room things would have been better. Our air conditioning and television did not work properly. Or room was sunk down (think bunker style) with only one window with no real access to flowing air so we had a pretty warm night. After sharing our experience with the front desk she said she could not do anything for us because we booked on hotels.com. She was pleasant overall and said there was a note in the computer so if we booked again she would "do something for us" but would not commit to any indication of what that was. I asked if she would take down the exact issues in the room because no one should be staying in that room the way it was. Again - Overall a decent hotel I think we just got the lemon in regards to rooms. We had a lovely night walking around Del Mar and walking on the cliffs overlooking the ocean. A nice get away if only the room had been better, especially for the price.

This is a hidden gem of a place in Del Mar.Posted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
This place made a great first impression and never disappointed. We arrived an hour and a half early before check-in time yet we were allowed immediate access to our room. The rooms are nothing fancy but clean and comfortable. They have a beautiful, inviting pool and good food with friendly service at their restaurant. It's located within walking distance (slightly less than a mile) from the beach, Jake's Restaurant and the Del Mar Plaza. Also located within a short drive from the Torrey Pines Preserve. Great little place!

Terrible customer servicePosted Jul 21, 2013
Pros: Lobby and bar
Cons: Customer service, renovations to the suites, toiletries offered
I would never go back or recommend to a friend. It's overpriced for what's offered.

We loved the place. Found out it was recently remodeled and they did a fantastic job. The only complaint was the apartment complex behind needs a fence (block wall), so the tenants can not easily walk on the grounds. As we saw a guy coming from the apartment and smoking at the bench and grass area.
