Hotel Solamar was absolutely fabulous enjoyed our stay tremendously. The staff was friendly courteous and extremely helpful with everything!!! They made our trip outstanding and memorable. We will definately go back!!!

“2 nights at the Hotel Solamar”

Loved it. Clean rooms. Nice view from poolside bar. Close to the ballpark and gas lamp district. Everything you need to do on a trip to San Diego is within walking distance from the hotel. FREE wine tasting everyday at 5 in the hotel living room. You get the point now dont you.

“Very Impressed”

I picked this hotel just because it was new and I wanted to try it out. I'm pretty familiar with Kimpton hotels and this one definitely lives up to the 4 stars. A trendy place to stay in SD, where the rooms are comfy and the staff is very pleasant. Make sure to check out the J bar on the 4th floor!

“A San Diego Star!!!”

Hip hotel in the gaslamp district of San Diego. Room decor is fabulous and you can't beat the animal print terry robes waiting for you! Cool pool bar with great seating choices...especially at night by warm fire pits! Spitting distance to the ballpark for all you baseball fans! I went for business but ended up having fun! This is another Kimpton hit. I'll be back soon.

“Great hotel!”

We read mixed reviews on this hotel - mainly due to the noise from the pool bar. It didn't bother us at all. Our room was on the top (10th) floor overlooking the pool and you couldn't hear the noise at all unless your window was open. Rooms were furnished very uniquely. Staff was great.

“Great Hotel, Great Location”

Newer, hip hotel with great location in the Gaslamp quarter. Close to dining, shopping, Petco Park. Spacious, comfortable rooms, and friendly service. We had a room at the end of the hotel which provided a larger room and extra windows. Noise from bar on the 4th floor wasn't a problem. Highly recommend - will stay there again on our next trip.

“Weekend getaway”

The hotel was great. We had a rental vehicle which we used the valet service for and boy was that convienint. The staff was very nice and courteous. The pool was always busy due to the nice weather, bar at the pool, and it was open to the public. When looking for the hotel keep your eyes peeled, if you're not paying attention. This hotel has amazing location. It was a block and a half away from PETCO stadium and right near the gaslamp district which includes many great places to eat and drink during the day and at night.
