Overpriced

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: The hotel is in a great location and it was very clean.
Cons: See comments above.
I had specifically asked for an extra bed for the last 3 nights of my stay in my initial request. I also mentioned this when I checked in and no one said this would be a problem. My wife and daughter showed up on Friday and I was told the room was too small to bring in another bed. I probably would not have booked the room if I had known this. There was already an extra guest fee added on to the advertised price.

Great hotel, but beware of $42/nt parking fee

Posted Dec 8, 2014
This is a chic hotel with a great location - it is one block from the gaslight district. From here you can also explore the waterfront and Seaport Village and a train station is in walking distance as well. The room was very nice and comfortable (very soft sheets:) and decorated in a elegant but still warm style. Here is the one downside to this hotel: PARKING COSTS $42 PER NIGHT. So if you are flying in or taking the train this is the hotel for you, but if you are driving you might add this cost into the hotel room cost calculation from the get go. There are some public parking garages around there, but they are also not cheap and you have to pay every time you go in and out. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated with lots of artwork by a local artist. They have a relatively small but very nice pool area and an open air lounge/bar area. Although we did not use it we did appreciate the extensive honor bar in the room : There were real bottles of different liquors (not quite full size, but not the miniature size either) - Although, if you want just one drink it might be overkill to have to buy a bigger bottle... We do want to stay here again, but next time we will take the train so we do not have to pay for parking:)

Great location

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Excellent location near ballpark. Only problem is not to have room on top floor. Some type of mechanical motor would go on late at night and was a little noisy.

Trendy hotel vibe, convenient to all downtown

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: I liked the modern decor, the boutique feel.
Cons: In day light anyway, the bar area is dirty and the left over dishes etc around the edges. Don't love the dogs in hotel. Barking in rooms
I think its a lovely hotel. I would definitely like to return. The dining room when open was terrific. Not open on Thanksgiving for breakfast was a little inconvenient but understandable. Staff was VERY accommodating, helpful at front desk, even gave us a bottle of wine. Great after hours bar tender and excellent breakfast menu. I cant get used to dogs. I have 2 so I love dogs but I couldn't get past wondering if dogs had been on the bed in our room, how things are cleaned when accidents etc. Nothing was dirty but I would worry about the barking before I would re book. I noticed barking walking down halls but didn't affect my sleep which would have made me CRAZY. I'm sorry but it might be a factor in re booking.

Kimpton Hotels offer a unique stay

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: See experience
Cons: Would have loved an outdoor jacuzzi, especially since the pool area is on the 4th floor and has such a great downtown view.
Location: Walking distance - 7/11 and markets for grab-and-go stuff. All the awesome downtown restaurants!!!
We love the robes. Missed having a jacuzzi, but the jacuzzi tub in our Deluxe Spa room was AWESOME! You had feet room like a regular outdoor jacuzzi. We stayed the night before Thanksgiving, so the pool lounge was closed, which was a bummer, but understandable. The pool area is great with the lounge/bar (when it will be open), fire pits, plenty of comfy chairs, warm small pool. A gazeebo looks out over downtown...and we were fortunate to see fireworks that must have been set off over the harbor. The hotel is close to everything (in walking distance) downtown. We walked to get dinner and breakfast in the morning. The staff, from the valet guys at the door, to Morgan who checked us in, are all warm, welcoming, and appear to be happy to be working at the hotel. That is a good sign. We stayed at our first Kimpton in Portland and LOVED it and thought we'd do a stay-cation in San Diego and give our Kimpton a try. VERY HAPPY WE DID! Can't wait to try another one!

Zentrales Business-Hotel

Posted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: Typischer Kimpton-Service, kleines Boutique-Hotel.

This is one of the best hotels I have been to

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Hotel location is perfect. Close to everything but it's in a quiet street for nice sleep. Room was very nice and clean. The only thing I can complain about is the bed mattress was too soft and no cup in the bathroom. But I really enjoyed staying at this hotel.

Nice hotel close to all

Posted Nov 20, 2014
Pros: The location was great. The staff were fantastic. The hotel is lovely
Cons: The restaurant had a very limited, uninspired, and expensive menu. I've stayed at many Kimpton hotels and the restaurant fell far short
Location: The Gas Lamp district is wonderful for shopping, eating, networking, etc! Seaport Village is a quaint tourist attraction w/ lots of eating/shopping
With very few exceptions this is a typical Kimpton hotel -beautifully furnished rooms, gracious, helpful, and welcoming staff. It's too bad there is so much construction in the area -took away from the ambience....
