I cannot say enough great things about this hotel - location was fantastic, staff were friendly and very helpful, rooms were clean and updated, pool area is beautiful...wonderful experience here - would recommend to anyone travelling to San Diego and will definitely stay here again. Great location for a family - we walked to the Gaslamp Quarter quite easily (with an infant!), it is right across the street from shops and restaurants at the Seaport Village and The Headquarters and also very close to a large grocery store "Ralph's". Also within walking distance to the Coronado ferry, USS Mission museum, and located right across the street from the trolley station. Ordered room service one night, it was great (pizza, beet salad, salsa and guacamole). Great view from our corner King room on the 20th floor, Seaport tower.
Only tip for those travelling with infants - bring along your own travel crib as the one supplied by the hotel seemed very uncomfortable as the mattress was very uneven - you could feel the end of each wooden board, our little one did not do very well in it and ended up sleeping with us. If you must use the hotel one, definitely bring your own sheets as they didn't have one that fit the pack and play and just used a large sheet folded up a few times (definite safety concern!)

"Spacious suite, quiet area, nice staff, good price"
When I booked this hotel, I was a little nervous because some of the pictures reviewers had posted were unappealing. I was looking for an affordable place to stay that was nice and more "upscale" than some of the lower end chains and decided that we'd risk it and hope that the Hyatt reputation stood up. I booked a king suite and wasn't sure what to expect. When we arrived at the hotel, we discovered it was under renovation in the lobby and central area and hoped that it wouldn't affect our stay. It didn't. While it would have been nice to see the lobby and common areas, it was actually not a big deal to have it blocked off. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The daily breakfast provided was just right. The seating area was a little crowed due to construction limits but it worked out. The room had a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and spacious bedroom. It was very clean. The furniture and carpet were dark colored but that didn't bother us. The bed was comfortable. Overall it was a fantastic stay and we would stay there again. I'd actually like to return to see how their renovations turned out. I would take my kids to stay here as well as there was plenty of room in the suite with a queen sofa sleeper and room for a roll away.
