Great mini-vacation

Posted Sep 12, 2014
It was a wonderful long weekend. The hotel is very enjoyable. Great restaurant with really excellent dishes. Nice pool area with great bar. We loved Einstein Bagels for breakfast. And all the water activities right by the hotel with very friendly and helpful staff.

The room key never worked and we had to go to the front desk each time so I could get into room. So I could never enter my room without going to the front desk. Sean assured it would be fixed and would call me; but the call never came and the door never worked.

Great location for Sea World and Mission Beach.

Posted Sep 6, 2014
Pros: The location is great if you are visiting Sea World or going to Mission Beach. The staff is friendly and attentive and it all adds up to a great stay
Cons: The parking fees are too high when added together with the daily resort fee.
Location: Close to Sea World, Mission Beach and 10 minute drive from the airport.
Being serenaded by the sea lions adds to the special stay at the Hyatt!

A fantastic place to stay.

Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: Please read "about our experience" it says it all.
Cons: If you can improve, please do so. But what ever you do, do not go backward.
Location: There are so many things to do. Seaport Village, Gas Lamp District, Old Town, Humphrys brunch, boat rentals, s the Midway, La Jolla, etc.
Before we arrived we were a bit reluctant. We've been to San Diego numerous times but never outside of the town. However, once we arrived we knew this was the right place to stay. The hotel, the room, the staff, the cleaning personnel, the bar, (especially Riva and Lenny) were exceptional. My wife and I vowed, when we visit San Diego we know this is where we will be staying. Thank you all for making our stay very memorable. Tony & Helen Pimentel

Great for price

A good compromise between location and price. Facilities are nice, rooms are good, furniture showing a little wear and tear. On site dining is great.

Beautiful hotel, excellent location.

Posted Sep 2, 2014
Pros: Just about everything!
Cons: Restaurant, bar and parking prices.
Location: Excellent location near the ocean, shops, pier. There's something for everyone near the hotel.
Great experience at Hyatt Regency Mission Bay. The hotel was nice, modern, updated... staff was very friendly... rooms, pool, etc. were clean. Food was a little pricey at the restaurant and pool lounge but that's usually expected when eating at a hotel. Overall excellent stay.

Nice Hotel for families, near sea world and marina

Posted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Location, proximity to sea world, pools and water slide for kids
Cons: Buildings renovated, carpets cleaned up or changed, staff specially front desk could be more honest and upfront, parking at $30/ night is atrocious!
Location: Great place to rent jet skis and speed boats, water taxi to sea world, close to a lot of activities in downtown san diego
This is my second time staying at this hotel. There is one thing for sure and that your experience will vary depending on a number of things. First off be careful when you check-in as the Front desk people have a number of inferior rooms to get rid of in each category. There are a number of waterfront suites with obstructed view yet all advertised as waterfront and come with a hefty price. I happened to get one of those this time around. They switched me from first floor to second but the view was completely blocked by the Gym building. Worse than that they all pretend that they don't know about this issue at first and they are really sorry as if this just happened... Once you get past the tricks or get lucky with a good room, the amenities are really good for families with kids. This hotel is good choice if: you are planning to go to sea world, you have kids and like to spend time in the pool and water slide. Not a good choice if you're interested in a place on the beach (this hotel is not), you don't have kids and looking for quiet place to stay, couples and business people.
