“SD traveler”
Bathroom extreemly tight - appreciated the no smoking in rooms - mattresses on verge of needing to be replaced - the Waffle Stop had good waffles
“Unexpected delight”
When I book this hotel for the special price, I didn't expect much, but I was delighted and quite surprised - extremely clean - great bedding - very nice pool - great breakfast resturant - all of the staff was as nice as I have ever experienced !! Very quaint, cozy lobby. If you are looking for a great place to sleep at a very resonable price, in a very expensive city, this is the place.
“Not very impressed”
just for few nights and price it is ok. Can't have a longer stay in this hotel
“Not impressed”
Will find other places
“CAN'T WAIT TO GO BACK”
THIS HOTEL IS VERY WELL LOCATED, IT WAS CLEAN & VERY COMFORTABLE. THE RESTAURANTS HAD VERY GOOD FOOD & GOOD SERVICE. THE HOTEL IS A TWO STORY HOTEL & I DID NOT SEE AN ELEVATOR SO KEEP THAT IN MIND WHEN CHOOSING A ROOM. OTHERWISE BOTH ME & MY HUSBAND WERE VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE MAINTENANCE OF THE HOTEL. IT IS VERY 70'S BUT CLEAN & COMFORTABLE, WHICH IS THE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR. GREAT DEAL ;-)
“Centrally located”
The hotel is very reasonable and with the perfect location to the various attractions. The hotel is not fancy or upscaled but delivers a comfortable room at a reasonable price. There is a restaurant and bar on the facility which makes it convenient to have a drink after a day or sightseeing without having to drive. Beware, the traffic in San Diego can be very heavy and for someone from a small city very intimadating. Be sure to check out Coronado, a very lovely city.
“They did the best they could under the circumstances”
The hotel was clean and well kept. My friend and I had a good laugh over the decor of room (a little curtain is above the bed, I guess to fit the "King" theme -- well just wait. It was hilarious and awesome at the same time). The grounds are well kept as well. We arrived an hour early and were told if we wanted to check-in early, it would cost us $10. They had a room ready, but it would cost us. We were so exhausted, we paid it, but left us with a poor first impression. It's just plain silly and poor customer service. We then joked about the signs in the room explaining that extra towels would cost you ten dollars as well. Forgotten toiletries were also available for a price. That became a running joke about how anything we might expect from another hotel might cost us $10 (wake-up call, soft bed, use of the elevator. etc.). Then we awoke one morning to a shower without hot water. The staff was courteous enough to allow us to go to a vacant room and use their shower. I asked if that would cost me ten dollars and the clerk didn't get it. They didn't have it fixed the next day either, so the same thing happened - different room (this one marked as vacant but not clean). On the third day, it was finally fixed. In the end, I believe the manager waived the ten-dollar "early check-in" fee as compensation for the hassle. We were barely in the room due to a conference, so the room met the needs and provided a great story between friends.
“Needs a major remodel !”
Old facility in need of a major remodel. Keep the pool, hot tub and free parking and tear the rest down. Front desk was very polite and helpful but give them something nicer to work with! If we go back to San Diego we will look for something newer.
“Its older, but very clean and tidy with great staff!”
Its an older hotel.....maybe early 90s. but very clean. Very well maintained. The staff was also very nice, and helpfull. Finally the Waffle Spot is a great older/vintage diner and very handy in the hotel. Fashion Valley Mall is only a 20 minute walk away, and its one of the best outdoor walking malls I've been to.
“Best price/quality ratio..!”
Very friendly staff in a simple but comfortable hotel located near all major San Diego attractions.
