What a dream vacation!Posted Nov 17, 2014
Pros: Location, the view to the ocean, and the architecture of the hotel! Loved the décor!
Cons: The rooms maybe updated technology, the bathrooms should be a bit roomier.
Location: We loved the Americana Restaurant def a place for breakfast! The beach and the view from the restaurant called Jakes! Also going north to Oceanside
We went to L'Auberge to celebrate 3 best friends birthdays! We chose this place because the pics looked amazing and when we got there it was even prettier!! The views were simply amazing! We loved the bar, the dining terrace and the area where the fire pit was! So indulging you can see the ocean from there and the top terrace with rocking chairs oh what a place! Breath taking! We also loved the location, restaurants everywhere all walking distance and the best part for us was the beach just a few feet away from the hotel. The ambiance is super and the staff was really nice making you feel welcomed , from the valet staff to every other department! The rooms are very nice and clean , roomy and elegant! We would go back in a heart beat just so beautiful and the weather couldn't have been better!

Wonderful staff and perfect location for kids!Posted Oct 6, 2014
Pros: Incredible staff; fantastic location within walking distance to beach, dining, shopping; excellent on-site facilities; beautiful rooms and design.
Cons: We were expecting a few more vegetarian options on the food menus, given the SoCal location. The non-ocean view from the South Wing is not great.
Location: Five minute walk to beach and park/playground; right in the center of excellent shopping/dining district; five minute drive to golf center!
We just wrapped up a ten-night stay at L'Auberge Del Mar and we had an outstanding experience, overall. My wife and I renewed our vows in La Jolla and we brought our 2 1/2 year old and newborn sons with us all the way from Connecticut. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating throughout our stay, and despite the high-end atmosphere and ultra-classy clientele, we never once felt out of place as a family with young children. The other guests were rarely visibly (and perhaps understandably) annoyed at having to sit near a toddler and an infant during the nightly sunset viewings, given the setting, but that's really their problem. :) There were at least three or four other families with young children there at the relatively small hotel, so it really was much less of an issue than we had imagined it would be. Our room was spacious and comfortable and the staff maintained it immaculately throughout our stay. If I booked again, I would opt for an upgrade to a room with an ocean view - it definitely would have been worth the price. The room service dining and pool menu left a little to be desired in terms of variety and price, but we were excited to find out that the spectacular on-site restaurant, Kitchen 1540, offered in-room delivery as well! I ordered the "still-smoking" scallops one night, and through some ingenious engineering, the server was actually able to maintain the smoke inside a glass cover for the meal's journey up the elevator from the kitchen.

A Wonderful ExperiencePosted Sep 30, 2014
From the moment you arrive it feels special - the valets and the folks at check-in all seem to exude happiness. Seems they genuinely like to be there and it shows! The rooms are all decorated very nicely and the views from the heart of the hotel are beautiful. There is easy access to the beach and other restaurants that are a very short walk away. We will be back!

The bed was not comfortable at all.Posted Sep 25, 2014
This is suppose to be a five star hotel. The bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in while staying at a hotel. The mattress needed replacing.

Not for family with kidsPosted Sep 11, 2014
This is an upper class environment that shy on other ethnicities. My kids couldn't enjoy themselves in the pool without people getting upset with the noise. The pool waiter guy ignored us the whole time while catering to everyone else. The rooms are very small for the price you pay.

Lovely Stay!Posted Sep 8, 2014
Spent a week at L'Auberge and had a very nice experience. For the most part the staff was nice and attentive. The atmosphere was very quiet and restful. However, the room does not have black out drapes so sleeping in was a bit difficult. I would defiantly stay there again.
