“Very nice...”

This hotel was very nice, close to the beach and well maintained. Walls are a little thin and not enough parking for guests. Other than that, I would stay here again.

“Great location on Coronado”

Very comfortable king-size bed and an extra large closet and dressing area. The pastries for the continental breakfast were better than average. Lots of restaurants near by with an easy walk to the beach at the Del Coronado--at a fraction of the price for staying at that grand old resort. The receptionist was very accommodating about parking and about storing a package for us. Pool area small but a pleasant place to sit.

“Great location, great hotel”

When we arrived, the receptionist was very helpful in giving us recommendations for dinner. The room was clean and bright with low key decor. The location is perfect and allowed us to wander across the street to the Del to watch the sunset while sipping on a chardonnay. I would stay there again.

“La Avenida with a 1-yr old”

We wanted a place that was close to my husband's grandpa's house without having to pay too much. La Avenida was right across the street, and the price was reasonable (though still not cheap). The room was fairly small and furnishings relatively plain though in decent condition, the TV was not great, but that was OK. The hotel did provide a crib for our son, which he found comfy enough to sleep through the night in (at least 2 of our nights), and upon knowing that we would have a baby staying in the room put us in a fairly isolated room, so, we didn't have neighbor-noise from rooms surrounding us...and didn't wake anyone up with our little early-riser. The location was prime, with cute shops (including a yummy creperie) next door and around the corner, less than 2 blocks to the beach, and many conveniences within a few blocks (early opening coffee shop! etc.). Overall, La Avenida served as a nice home-base for our visit with relatives, and we would be happy to stay there again.

“Great value”

I was in San Diego for a convention. The stay at Avienda was a respite from the hectic day downtown and the neighborhood provided many choices for breakfasts and dinner. It was great to take a walk on the beach before the work day began.

“Convenient in Coronado”

Bed comfortable. Noise level fairly good despite location on main drag thru town. Stayed during a convention held across bay at SD conv. ctr. Found It was actually easier to take bus with transfer to trolley than drive into dwntn SD. Great area for walking around town, several decent restaurants nearby, some ocean or other within a block, with good beach (sand, waves, volleyball, the usual). Great place to relax without having to drive everywhere, but easy to get to and from by car if you want/need.
