This was the perfect location for enjoying the beach, picnicking with a view of the ocean, eating in one of La Jolla's many outdoor dining restaurants, and walking through the downtown shops. Everything was walking distance!

Hotel was in a good location for La Jolla Cove and just a short drive to Downtown San Diego.

Can't beat the location & price

Posted Apr 17, 2015
Pros: I liked the view, price, location, balcony, and staff.
Cons: Just a softer mattress.
Location: Directly across from the Cove & sea lions, and an easy walk to the Village.
I prefer softer beds, but if you prefer firm mattresses, then it's perfect.

Exceptional and beyond our expectations!

Pros: Friendly, Caring, Lovely Rooms, Beautiful Views, Excellent Breakfast, Clean and Enjoyable Pool and Beach for families!
Location: Great beach for families with sea life right there. Sea World, San Diego Zoo, and if the tide is out, Tidal Pools!
The staff were very friendly and caring! The suite was very nice, clean, and secure. The view from the balconies were relaxing and beautiful. We really enjoyed the breakfast and view from the top floor, and the pool was greatly enjoyed. A great place to relax and enjoy the cove, beach, and views! We would definitely recommend La Jolla Cove Suites to everyone!

caution

Pros: The view from the hotel was great.
I never recommend you to stay in this hotel unless you are caucasian, because the male staff at the front dest is obviously a racist.

Excellent location and surprisingly tiny room

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Location, Breakfast and Sun deck
Cons: Water leaked on shower head all night after I took shower. It was enough noise to kept me up for some time before I could go to bad.
Nothing beats the location of this hotel, just excellent location. The breakfast was super and sun deck was awesome. But the room was really small and the bathroom was surprisingly tiny. The bathroom was even smaller than one that I experienced in Tokyo.

Crappy hotel in a stunning location

Posted Mar 23, 2015
Pros: There's not a whole lot to love, but my room was clean and comfy enough. Noise from hallways and adjoining rooms might be a concern for light sleepers
Cons: It's badly in need of a complete overhaul.
Location: The location is excellent. If you love La Jolla, it's absolutely ideal. It sits directly across the street from Scripps Park and La Jolla Cove Beach.
You stay at this place for the location, not the hotel itself. It's old and drab - not nasty, just way outdated and a bit dingy. I was fine with just having a place to lay my head, knowing that the location was worth it. My wife is a lot more picky and would not have been OK with it, but I was on my own for this trip. Think of it more like a drive-in motel, because that's really what it's like.
