Old hotel but in a great location

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: The location and it had a very nice breakfast with a fantastic view of the ocean
Location: The seashore is across the street with lots of people doing watersports such as surfing, swimming, kayaking, etc. Shops and restaurants nearby.
We made the mistake of booking the cheapest room which was extremely tiny with no extra amenities in what is an old hotel. Room noise from other rooms. This was still okay as we only slept in it and the location of the hotel is great with respect to the ocean and the community of La Jolla. San Diego is very close for touristy things as well as Torrey Pines golf courses.

Location: watch the sea lions in the cove. Shop, dine and explore Prospect St.
Great ocean view from our balcony. Road work started around 7am- They were breaking up the road in front of the hotel. Hotel claimed they did not know about the work and offered earplugs. We worked around it and had 2 weeks of fun and sun.

Old! tiny but near ocean.

Posted Feb 21, 2015
Pros: Inexpensive and near the ocean.
Cons: Complete remodel.
Location: La Jolla. The beach, shopping, and great restaurants.
Old, tiny motel that's right by the ocean. You can hear the ocean at night (lovely), however, you can also hear every other sound. Walls must be paper thin. Very tiny rooms and bathrooms, about thesizeof an R.V.

LaJolla by the sea

Posted Feb 17, 2015
If you want a room that faces the beach this is where to stay. However, keep in mind, you are paying for the view, the room is only so so. Very small, dated rooms, older toilets, tubs etc. we used the refrigerator but the rest of the kitchen is not one you'd use to cook in. There is a window in the shower area so anyone walking by, can see your silhouette when you shower. Like I said, you stay if you want an ocean view.

Pros: View, proximity to La Jolla cove, and Prospect Street
Cons: Elvis Christmas music was being played on the deck in February.
Location: La Jolla cove, seals, museum of contemporary art, restaurants, and shopping.
Stayed on Valentine's Day. Local to San Diego, however, wanted to stay at a nice location.

Decent hotel.

Posted Feb 16, 2015
The Room as extrnemely small and a bit dated, but sufficient. I did love the continental breakfast on the roof overlooking the beach. The waffles were awesome! I think the hotel is a good place to sleep but I would want nicer rooms for longer stays. For the money in that area I would say its A good buy. My only gripe was the suprise 20$ parking to park there.

Too noisy

Perfect location + outdated furniture and fixtures + paper thin walls = mediator experience. If you plan to spend anytime in the hotel do not stay here. Roof top dining has an amazing view, and you can walk to everything, but the room and bathroom reminds you of a motel in the middle of no where. You can hear the room to the left, right, above, and below you. On a scale of 1-10 this hotel is the definition of a 5.
