“A great family hotel right on the beach”

My daughters, granddaughter, and I had a great time at this hotel. We loved that it was conveniently located for ocean adventures as well as some good restaurants just walking distance from our rooms. We felt like our room was upgraded since we requested patio rooms, but got rooms near the pool on the 3rd floor. with a great view of the beach, ocean, and the park. My bed linens had the smell of laundry chemicals, but the maid changed all linens and resolved that issue. We were comfortable and enjoyed the hotel restaurant and umbrellas, and chairs provided for the beach. The jacuzzi needs to be enlarged because many people like to congregate and visit there. This was our second stay at this hotel, and we would enjoy staying there again next trip to San Diego area.

Wonderful, we had a great view of the coastline and the Pacific Ocean! One of the hotel staff noticed our children when we first arrived and brought a teddy bear for each up to our room.

We loved our stay at LaJolla Shores.The room was clean and the location perfect. (right on the beach) My family also enjoyed spending time in the courtyard where the ping pong tables were located and in the bar/resturant where you can participate in happy hour while watching the sun set! All the staff I encountered during my stay were pleasant and very helpful.Would definitely recommend this hotel!

“La Jolla Lover!!”

I would recommend La Jolla to any traveller young and old!! It is a beautiful, quiet, beach front location. We had exceptional service anywhere we went. Everyone is very friendly and we felt safe at all locations we went to. The area comes to life early in the morning with many surfers and divers in the water by sunrise, but not much for night life unless you go into the Village or to Pacific Beach area. The La Jolla Shores Hotel is oceanside with gorgeous views, I recommend the Coastal or Ocean View rooms. Our room was very clean and the staff upgraded us to a nicer view room at no charge. The hotel restaurant was a little pricey, but not more than what we expected. The food was delicious. Just down the street are a few shops and restaurants. I would suggest Papalulu's for coffee and breakfast. Piatti's for a great Italian meal is a must on your "to try" list! Be sure to go into the Village, tour the Cove and Caves. For a decent priced lunch and coffee on their outdoor patio, try out the Living Room. Another spot to hit for lunch is Gerard's on Girard St. A great one day excursion is to head to the Harbour. Take a walking tour of the boats, naval ships and cruise ships that port in the area. Walk through the Sea Port Village for another nice area of shops and cafes. Take the ferry to Coronado Island, it is only about a ten minute trip across the bay. It was a bit too far of a walk from the ferry landing to Coronado Beach, but there are taxis and an easy to use bus.

“Simply Excellent”

La Jolla Shores was an excellent experience--we were upgraded to a beautiful ocean front room because the hotel was less full than usual. The beds were comfortable, the room had been newly updated, and the location was, as always, unbelieveable. Highly recommended! Right on the beach.

“Great escape”

Great place to get away from cold midwest winter. Beach is outside the door. Excellent service, quiet location 1 block from a variety of locally owned restaurants/shops.

We love the location of this hotel. The hotel is older, has thin walls and is pretty plain as far as decor, but the location is so great it is worth it. The staff is also very friendly.

Great location, reasonably priced, great room & beds, nice pool & jacuzzi, right on the beach, good parking, not too far from the airport, and close to lots of opportunities for any kind of dining. We will definitely return and talked with others who do.
