“La Jolla in December”

Great location for couples with kids, and people who aren't really into partying with larges crowds!!!

“Best Honeymoon Ever!”

I have no complaints. This was the perfect vacation and ideal honeymoon. The staff was polite and we had no issues with how anything was handled.

“Its a great area!”

We loved the area that the hotel is located. The room was very nice, but a few things did not work well. The heater in the shower room did not work and there were a few things in the kitchenette that could be in better shape. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean. Our patio was very nice as well.

“Very impressed”

Overall, we were very impressed with this hotel. Service was good, the courtyard of the hotel was excellent. The hotel was right on the beach and the surrounding neighborhood was fun to explore. The hotel restaurant had excellent service and food especially for vegetarians like us. They really tried to accomodate to our taste. Our room was ok, the bathroom was in need of remodelling and updated and it smelled of urine. We did mention that to the front desk the day we were leaving. Our view of the ocean was gorgeous, we got sit on the balcony and relax. We relaxed in the hot tub and swimming pool. I would give the hotel a 4/5 star rating but the condition of the bathroom in our room really disappointed me. I would like to go back again next year with my family to this hotel.

“November getaway”

We had a great time. The front desk surprised us with champagne and strawberries on our first night. Loved the location. Hotel is a bit older, but is holding up ok. The kitchenette was a real plus. Staff was great. Bummed we had to pay extra for parking .

“great location”

Nice architecture with a beautiful Spanish style courtyard. Safe suburban area, away from the city bustle, and within walking distance of beautiful neighborhoods. Spacious rooms have individual balconies and the dining room faces the ocean. Courtesy computer/printer access in the lobby was very helpful. Easy highway access to all La Jolla and San Diego sights. Always found safe street parking (early November) very close to the hotel. A couple of excellent restaurants within walking distance.

“Great place as expected per Expedia description. Would return without hesitation!”

LaJolla Shores' location was great; not too busy or crowded area. On the beach location was awesome as the ocean lulled us to sleep each night. Room was very clean and comfortable. Room was refreshed daily. Food was very good and we enjoyed the friendly and helpful staff. Happy hours were fun. A very nice place to stay. Expedia you pulled through again for us, thanks!

When to go

The weather (end of October) was perfect and it wasn't crowded.

Dining

All restaurants were great, but if you want an outstanding place you have to try the Marine Room on the LaJolla Shores grounds; it was amazing. The new Crab Cathers Restaurant in downtown LaJolla was also great!

Outdoors or beach

The beach was beautiful and fun to watch the surfing and divers.

“We were not ready to leave!”

Overall staff was effective, efficient and friendly. Hotel was everything we expected and more. The location right on the beach can not be beat. We loved walking the beach and the aminities that the hotel offered. The ocean view on north coast and the activities in the local area met all our expectations. When checking in, a king bed (which we requested) was not available. The staff offered a king bed within 1 day but we declined after viewing the original room as the location suited us very well. We had no regrets what so ever. The only 2 minor complaints were the daily parking surcharge and Saturday night wedding parties. However, the parking charge was gladly paid after looking at the on street parting options. The overall convinience of the underground parking worked exceptionally well. Saturday nights appeared popular for wedding parties. The noise level was high but reduced significantly after 10:00 PM and was more than tolerable. We loved the hotel, we loved the location and we are planning on returning to La Jolla again next year. We only wished we had planned on staying for 3 weeks instead of 2 as we just weren't ready to come home.

We have traveled to San Diego for 30 years and have found the entire area interesting and a great place to visit.

“wonderful staff, 1 of few hotels right on beach”

this was a wonderful hotel- watched the sunset on the beach every nite!! staff was so friendly and went above and beyond their jobs. having the ocean rite outside the patio was amazing, and the little shopping/resturant district down the street was great 4 dining. they have complimentary shuttle 2 anywhere in la jolla, so transport was no issue. only thing i would suggest 2 make it better is microwave in room
