Great hotel

We've stayed in many hotels...and the customer service here was simply the best ever..... even as we drove off the valet ran after us to give us cold water bottles...so from the moment we checked in until we were out of sight.. the staff was doing something to make our stay...one to be envied by royalty.

Classic Hotel with the best location

Pros: building, location, staff, restaurant, pool
Location: right next to the La Jolla cove. couldn't be better situated. note: not in downtown San Diego
location, location, location. From this hotel you can walk to the famous La Jolla cove in 2 minutes - without having to smell the stink from the seals while you're eating! beautiful place. I can't wait to go back

Great location, friendly staff.

Pros: Location and amenities.
Cons: Everything was great.
Location: Close to great restaurants, shopping and other attractions.
Very prompt service. Friendly and efficient staff. Rooms were very nice.

あいにく連休だったのか、ほぼ満室状態で、狭い、臭い、暗い部屋になってしまったので、クレームしても変更してくれませんでした。最悪な三泊。二度と泊まりたくありません。

Nice but not gorgeous

Pros: The food was good and the pool area was nice
Cons: Breakfast service waiter. Somewhere warm and cosy to sit on cold days
Location: La Jolla is a nice town and the comedy store nearby was a fun evening and good value
We didn't have great weather in San Diego which always colours your view of things. The room was nice but wasn't particularly big. We had a pool view, good comfy bed and nice bathroom. The hotel staff were efficient but sometimes I felt that the smile didn't reach the eyes. The car valets were really good, gold star to them and to the bar man and pool girl, but we didn't warm to the waiter on breakfast duty. A tall guy working on morning of 15/16 May. He had a real bad smell under his nose and didn't smile once except when he handed you the check and wanted his tip. the Concierge was also very helpful. Obviously the hotel is completely geared to great weather so when it is cold and wet as during our stay it is unfortunate that there was nowhere warm and cosy to sit and read or enjoy a drink. There was also a big conference going on and it did feel like the staff were focussed on that. I went to the main desk with three small requests one evening and the guy on duty fobbed me off on all three. "Oh ring the concierge in the morning... Speak to housekeeping tomorrow etc." I probably wouldn't book the hotel again. It was the most expensive one we booked on a three week tour but it hasn't been the best.
