Great views...close to the beach

Posted Jul 2, 2015
Pros: Views, pools and beach experience
Cons: More eating options in the hotel
Location: Not a lot close by. You have to drive if you want to go somewhere or bike on the trails
What I loved about this hotel is that they make going to the beach effortless. You go out the front door and they have golf carts there and will drive you to the beach. Once there they have a table set up and you can check out towels, chairs with canopy's, buckets and boogie boards - all free of charge. My kids have never boogie boarded before but ended up trying it and had a blast. When you are done, you return your stuff back to the attendant they radio back to the hotel to send a golf cart to come pick you up. my kids also had fun playing basketball. They didn't have basketball courts, but they had portable basketball hoops on the tennis courts and you could use them If no one was playing tennis. The views were also fantastic. We had the bay view and you could see the downtown area and Coronado bridge.

Isolated location

Hotel was nice but nothing special. Sadly we started badly as booked a room with two double beds (4ppl) and did not get this! A sofa bed that you fell through!!! Stunning views from the suite but isolated so you would need a car

Beautiful hotel secluded on Coronado Island

Posted Jun 26, 2015
great place to relax, with plenty of amenities, and areas to run, walk, job, ride, etc. Diamond in the rough.

Nice hotel, a bit pricey

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: The friendly staff and great views!!
Cons: The shuttle service needs to be more accessible and they should be able to accommodate more people than a 6 person SUV.
Location: 6 miles from other shops and restaurants. If you get there you have more choices of places to eat and shop. You can also take a trolley tour for $39
This was a vacation. The staff was the most friendly and welcoming hotel staff I have ever encountered, except the restaurant staff. Upon arriving we had friends come to meet us and we had dinner reservations for 9 at 7 pm. There were not many people in the restaurant. It took 1 1/2 hrs. to get our food and not once did the waiter come over to say what the problem was. Even after the food was delivered he did not apologize. The food was pricey and not worth what we paid. The rooms were comfortable, bathrooms a bit outdated. The views from this hotel were beautiful. It is located 6 miles from other hotels, restaurants and shops so you either have to have a car (and pay $30 a day for parking) or take the shuttle that runs every hr. Sometimes they will come on the half hr. if you are lucky. You also have to book the shuttle ahead of time, which does not leave room for spontaneity. Once we called for a shuttle and were told they only had room for one so my friend would have to come back 1/2 hr after me. Being two women and it being after 8 pm, we chose to find another form of transportation. There is also no shuttle to the airport unless you want to take their town car for $55. Although this is a beautiful hotel, I would probably select one closer to town next time unless shuttles were more accessible.

A resort on Coronado

Posted Jun 25, 2015
Pros: Service, facilities, availability of personnel and features. They made it easy for our first trip with the kids.
Cons: The main dining restaurant, Mistral, was good, but not exceptional. We were happier eating at smaller establishments in Coronado.
Location: Shuttle service is offered to Coronado enabling walking to shops, food, and the beach (if you didn't want to use the resort's facilities).
With two infants, the staff worked quickly to help ensure the cribs were in the room and set up as well as providing a baby tub and complimentary baby bath sets. They were always helpful, prompt, and looking to provide service. They also offer a babysitting service which allowed us to finally have a warm dinner together. :)

Best customer service and location

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Came in for few nights, was greeted by everyone the whole staff was on top of it and nothing was an issue. We do have a 4 month old baby and thy were very accommodating. The manger tony made sure we were taken care of. Valet service provided us a free cab since shuttle was full to the shopping area. Overall great experience. Would definitely stay again.

Clean, Friendly, Fun. Pool staff was the best! There is a shuttle that can take you to and from the village so no need to set up a taxi or shuttle

Disappointing for a luxury hotel

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: Location. The day was beautiful...clouds and sun and such a lovely view.
Cons: Elevators and carpets were dirty. Food so so and very expensive. Staff not very attentive or helpful especially concierge
Location: Resort is away from village but beach close by. Did not see advertised chairs at beach, but they did have a shuttle
We stayed for my mother in law's 75 birthday. I called the hotel in advance to find out if they could arrange something special for her; nothing offered except the concierge. She recommended florists I could call myself to perhaps arrange a bouquet to be delivered to her room, but no promises. I arranged for a corsage for Mom which she wore all the first day of our stay...none of the staff even asked her about it or why she was wearing it. We had lunch there, dinner there, sat in the bar in front of the musician, nothing. Thankfully Mom did not seem to notice. The only thing they did do was turn on the Padre game when we asked. The hotel is showing age and the carpets were pretty dirty. Surprising for a $300 a night hotel. Would likely not go back.

We had dinner in the main restaurant and it was fantastic; from the service to the passion of the waiting staff to the quality of the food. 5 stars!
