Nice overall hotelPosted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff, comfortable room, great view of the bay. Fitness facility looked really nice, though we didn't use.
Cons: Room for improvement on bathroom cleanliness.
Location: Centralized location in a nice area of town. Walking distance to USS Midway, convention center, a few restaurants, and the Seaport Village.
My wife and I stayed over Christmas and overall our experience was very positive. The hotel was easy to find and get to from the airport. The lobby was beautiful and the front desk staff was very prompt and friendly at check in. The parking ramp, while not cheap, was very convenient and easy to get in and out of every day. Our room had a fantastic view of the bay, just as advertised, and overall the room was nice and comfortable. It was nice to have the refrigerator and coffee pot in the room - we were hoping for a microwave too, but that was an extra charge. Overall the room was fairly clean - though there was a hair on the shower wall that didn't get cleaned over our entire 4-night stay. Not being germaphobes we weren't too bothered, but obviously the cleaning could have been a little better. The location of the hotel was great. We went to Torrey Pines, the zoo, Point Loma, and La Jolla and all were an easy drive. It was great to be able to walk from the hotel to Seaport Village and the USS Midway. There were also a few restaurants you could walk to from the hotel. If you really want to eat/shop/walk the Gaslamp area, that walk is little longer (~8 blocks). We did not use the spa, pools, or fitness facility, but we did walk through the gym area and it looked pretty nice. Overall we were happy with our stay and would stay at the Manchester again. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family that were traveling to San Diego.

Best located harbour front hotelPosted Jan 10, 2015
We stayed for 4 nights over New Year, and despite it being a very large and busy hotel, you never felt swamped by people. The rooms are very modern with fantastic views. The lobby is huge, and the staff all very friendly and helpful. The location is excellent with the Seaport village literally just outside the door with shopping and dining options, the Gaslamp district is a 10-15 minute walk, and there is a Trolley stop just across the road if you want to go farther afield.

VacationPosted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: The front desk and almost all the staff were very friendly and helpful.
Location: Hotel was in the center of everything. Great location
The only thing that was troublesome was the bar called the "Top of the Hyatt". We went there to have some drinks and appetizers before dinner. We waited about 10 minutes for service, placed an order then waited another 10 minutes for drinks. We then waited 30 minutes after we ordered and we were told the appetizer we ordered "went bad" and we were told to order something else. We didn't order anything else, finished our drinks and left. For a rather expensive bar I thought the service was lacking.

Amazing view, Beautiful hotel!Posted Jan 8, 2015
Pros: Beautiful! Views, stunning lobby area.
Cons: Seating near the check-in! Weary travelers with kids need to have a place to corral them and rest while waiting for the check-in.
Location: It's San Diego--you can do a million things! We visited the Zoo, Seaport Village, Gas Lamp for dinner, Horton Plaza for shopping.
Front Desk was super friendly and expedited check-in quickly, accommodating my requests without a problem. Room was clean but the coffee maker was not. My bed and pillows were heaven, and the view--looking over the Trolley, Coronado Bridge, Marina, and Seaport Village was just amazing, 10+!! Perfect room temp, and no noise. There are 3 negatives, however. 1)because of the vast openness, the lounge was very noisy, and not relaxing, with a band playing somewhere above, the TV's on, and the normal clatter and chatter of a lobby. Without the band playing on the floor above it probably would've been okay. 2)While checking in-my family had to "STAND" and wait. There are no coaches or seating in the direct, very large, lobby area, or near check-in. This was inconvenient for weary travelers and kids. But it is GORGEOUS! 3)the breakfast buffet…not impressive at all. Sadly, I felt it was a complete waste of money.

A Room with a ViewPosted Jan 7, 2015
Pros: The corner king room was great & from our 16th floor room, the views were beautiful. Great staff.
Cons: The spa was disappointing and the toilet constantly ran.
Location: Within walking distance of so many fun things to do, Gaslamp District, downtown, Sat. Farmers Market & Seagate Village. We walked 5 miles everyday!
My husband & I went to San Diego for vacation. We arrived at the hotel very early but were still able to check in by 2pm. Tina at the front desk was very accommodating and when she noticed that it was my birthday, she sent a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to our room. The entire staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The views from our room were beautiful. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were too big and made for a stiff neck. The fitness room had a lot of machines and free weights so that everyone could workout comfortably without waiting. The closet was extremely small for 2 people but there was a lot of drawer space. Every bathroom needs a fan...enough said! The food at Redfield's Sports bar was delicious, especially the burgers! The biggest disappointment was the spa. I have never walked out of a massage in my life until this trip. Thankfully we were not charged for our services. This hotel is in a great location. Less than a mile away is a short ferry ride to Coronado, Seagate Village is directly behind it and has many great shops and food choices. The Headquarters next door also has yummy upscale dining and even the neighboring hotels have great drink specials. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay. I would definitely recommend it to family & friends.
