Do not stay at this hotel during hot weather!

Posted Sep 20, 2014
Pros: The grounds are fairly nice.
This hotel does not disclose that they don't have air conditioning. After paying for an upgrade to a "renovated" room, I stayed one night in the middle of September and it was miserable. Their solution was to provide 2 box fans which only swirls around the hot air. The room was like an oven, there was zero breeze coming in and the only vending machine with cold drinks was broken. I woke up at 4am due to still-stifling heat and I could not go back to sleep. I couldn't wait until 8am, when they said there was a breakfast provided, so I could eat and get out of there. The "breakfast" consisted of tiny blueberry muffins, some sort of swirled raisin bread and a selection of cereal. I passed and went to speak to the manager who of course was not on the premises. I asked that she call me - that was 3 days ago and I haven't heard a word. I am on a business trip but will call the hotel again when I am home. Don't bring a heavy suitcase as there is no elevator either.

This hotel is disgusting. The lobby is beautiful but the rooms are run down, paint peeling from walls, smelly, and there was no air conditioning! I will never stay here again.

Beautiful views of harbor and ocean.

Pros: The friendly staff and location. Also the fact that there was not a lot of kids running around. It was more of an older adult hotel which was great.
Cons: Continental breakfast, and the kitchens in the suites could use a few more cooking and utensil items.
Location: There is a nice sandy beach just the other side of the harbor, a cute little village, boating and nice restaurants close by.
The staff was wonderful, room was upgraded to ocean view. All rooms had balconies with either boat dock/harbor view or ocean and harbor view. We felt safe and it was quiet and relaxing. We enjoyed every minute of our stay and plan on returning again.

Pros: Good location.
Cons: Update the rooms
Location: Near the harbor, views of the water from some rooms
Rented room fro relatives coming for a summer visiit. Room they got was very dark and dated. Partial view of the harbor overlooking the swimmng pool. Other rooms may have had a better view.

Amazing views! So close you can almost touch it!

Pros: Being on the water. The updated room we moved to the following night.
Cons: Daytime front desk girls. The guys were great and knew their job.
Location: Great restaurants in the harbor, close to downtown Oceanside where we went to the weekly street fair. Great bar and restaurants downtown and close.
Born and raised in the area, I never realized this hotel was there. For the most part the staff was great with exception to the idiot that checked me in--had a VERY long discussion with manager about her. Day we checked out, didn't care for the girl that checked us out either, little rude. Double room not worth it, pay the extra for the king bed rooms, not all of them have been updated so I can only talk about the updated room we were in, which was AWESOME! Overlooked the pool and the ocean. We watched all the boats go out from the marina as we were facing the jetties. Saw dolphins coming in and out of the harbor while the Outrigger club and boats were going out on a gorgeous Saturday morning. The local restaurant delivered dinner to us very promptly including a bottle of wine. Food was great and reasonable. They only charge a delivery fee and required state tax on top of the regular menu prices. Enjoyed that on our patio at sunset. Very relaxing and enjoyable. Highly recommend this hotel.

No AC???

Posted Aug 19, 2014
Pros: The grounds and view were great!
Cons: REALLY needs air conditioning!
The room was nice, and the grounds and view are incredible, but who builds a hotel on the beach without air conditioning? They had a fire place and furnace, but no AC. The room was 85 degrees when we walked in. (According to the FURNACES thermostat.) They do provide a fan, but it was still uncomfortably warm. I'd still go stay there again in the fall/winter. The view is really very good.

We had an opportunity to go to Oceanside and...

Pros: The location was the best part, great jumping off point to many spots along the SoCal. Coast.
Cons: Ceiling fans would be great in each of the rooms, living room and bedroom.
Location: Plenty of water/sea activities... fishing, jet skiing, boating, kayaking, wind surfing, etc. Shopping, dining, arts activities, and sight seeing.
found this nice hotel. It's location is the best part, its located on a jetty in a marina. Its very clean & comfortable. The rooms are set up like efficiency apartments, with bedroom, bathroom, and living area separated. The downside is there is no A/C. Plenty of heating appliances, fireplace, and wall heaters. Since we are not from the area it must be cold/cooler than you would expect on the S. California coast. The hotel had added a standing fan to the bedroom, however it would have been nice to have ceiling fans in each of the rooms. The evening we were there it did cool off late in the evening to make sleeping comfortable. The room we had faced the marina others were available that faced the open water. There is not a beach here just rock/bolder covered boundary bordering the harbor side. A very nice pool, spa are available as well as a grilling area with grassy grounds to watch the sunset. Apparently suites are available on the harbor side as well.

We have never stayed here before and found it on expedia. We were surprised when we walked into the room to find it was basically an apartment. The grounds are beautiful. Great views of the harbor and the ocean. It needs updating and has no ac. The staff is friendly providing basic assistance. We liked the quiet location and the price.

The room did not have air conditioning. It stayed 85 degrees in our room at night with windows open.
