Great for kids

Posted Apr 14, 2014
We have stayed several times with great rooms, however this time our room was not so great. The bathroom had spiders hanging in the corners, along with mildew all over the shower ceiling. It was disappointing while paying $300 per night.

Amazingly relaxing!

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: I most loved the comfort of our room! The temperature of the room, the bed, and the bathroom amenities were on point!
Cons: NOTHING!
Location: We live near by, so we're pretty familiar with the area. But we went to our favorite restaurant in Leucadia, Leucadia Pizzeria!
La Costa was just what we needed for a a little "stay-cation". We just live a couple miles north, but it was the perfect little getaway. The room was perfect, very comfortable! The hotel itself was beautiful! It was the perfect sunny weekend. From swinging in the hammock, to swimming in the pool, we had a blast with whatever we did. The entire hotel staff was very courteous and always made sure we were well taken care of. All in all, our stay at La Costa was amazing!

It was the only place with a vacancy and we were pleasantly surprised by this beautiful place. Great for kids and adults. Lovely landscaping and amenities.

Good enough

Posted Feb 17, 2014
My family was looking to decompress, so our experience was good enough. It is really pricey to stay here, and had we had any availability at the Disneyland Resort, we would have chosen that over this. However, this was definitely less stressful given the pool and Jacuzzi that were really close to our room, the large room with enough beds for a family of five, etc... The downsides were that the parking was in the "back 40" in a beat up lot that we stumbled up the dirt hill to get to our room. The pull out couch which was our additional and needed bed had no blankets anywhere in the room. The kids' zone with slides was pretty awesome for the kids, but there was no place for the adults to enjoy the Jacuzzi without getting splashed by a dozen kids in the same Jacuzzi. Luckily, our kids stayed there for a short time before going back to the quiet pool/Jacuzzi by our room. Also, the kids' zone was wayyyyyyy up the hill and took about 10 minutes for our family to get there. So, that was a little annoying. This resort seems like it might have been really awesome a while ago, but could use additional TLC. For our purposes, it was alright. Probably won't stay there again, though.

Large room. Fun kids pool. Many people in suits.

Posted Jan 11, 2014
Stayed one night here with 2 kids (5 and 7). Came here specifically so the kids could play at the pool waterslide. Room was really large. Bathroom was giant. Decor a bit dated but the size of the room was very comfortable. I didn't appreciate the formal guys in suits and showy valet parking vibe on a family vacation. Seems like this place is trying too hard to appeal to the golfer crowd. Maybe Hawaiian shirts and shorts would be a nice compromise rather than suits. Kids had fun at the pool but our 5 yr old wasn't tall enough to go on the big slides. Overall it was a fun experience but probably wouldn't stay there again because grounds are too sprawling (had to drive to the kids pool) and because I don't like the golf vibe of this place.

Very nice facility and location

Pros: Clean and beautiful well maintained grounds.
Cons: Breakfast should be included.
Location: Good location.
Good experience except for breakfast. Because of going through Expedia the hotel did not offer breakfast so we paid much more than the breakfast was worth. Our family of 4 spent $100 the first morning. Our relatives who joined us for 2 days booked directly with the hotel and breakfast was included. Very disappointed that was not included for us.
