W & B's Stay

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The pool area was very nice with great food and drink service. Everyone at the hotel were very helpful.
Cons: The only thing we thought that could be improved upon was the fish smell coming from McCormick & Shmicks. It sits at the end of the lobby.
Location: See above
Stayed for two notes on the weekend in September. We attended Padres/Giants game on Saturday. I was a very nice experience. The hotel is adjacent to Petco Park. The Omni has a walkway to the park. All you need is a ticket to get in the park. No sales at this entrance. The hotel is adjacent to the light rail system that covers a large area of the city and is very inexpensive to use. The convention center is a short walk from the hotel and very convenient. The Gaslamp District starts right nest to the hotel and easy walking to all of its areas. Short ride from the airport and train station. Too many positives to cover. We had a great time!

Spacious king suite!

Posted Sep 15, 2014
Stayed in a spacious king suite. Clean room, friendly staff, excellent view of ocean. Walking to distance to everything gaslamp district has to offer. Would definitely stay here again. The only downfall is the parking - paid $38 for our one night stay. I am pretty sure all of the hotels near by have this sort of valet charge but $38 seemed a little steep. Overall a good experience though

Great location. Nice staffs. Comfy room

Posted Sep 15, 2014
The location was fantastic near everything. Room was clean and comfy. Refrirator in the room was kind of old and didn't really work. Tv Remote controls were out of battery. Swimming pool is very small compared to hotel size. Valet parking is $38 which was too much but theres a parking structure right across the street for $15 overnight. Overall, I had a great time with family including my 6 year old child. Nice weekend get away. San diego is a beautiful clean city for both relaxing and partying.

Great hotel with a bridge to Petco Park.

The San Diego Omni has a very friendly and efficient staff. They remember us each time we visit. It's a great location to see a Padres game and the Gaslamp area. We also had a fantastic view of the harbor from our room.

Labor Day Get Away - Single Mom and & Two Boys

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location. Right next to Petco Park, is in Downtown San Diego, metro stop right behind hotel, walking distance to just about anywhere in Downtown SD.
Cons: Parking. Parking is a whopping $38.00 per 24/hrs! Instead I recommend you park right across the street. That garage only charges a max of $15.00
Location: Location is great and there is too much to list. But mostly bars and restaurants. Petco Park has a small park for kids to play at behind the outfield.
As a single mom it takes quite a bit of planning to manage a two and a half hour car ride with two boys under 4 years of age. Make sure to plan sacks accordingly and to leave at or near nap time. Once I arrived I was greeted by the valet who helped unpack my car and did a pretty good job of opening up by double stroller. I walked in and was greeting again by the front counter check in staff. My check in was quick and smooth. All my items were loaded and carted off to my room by the friendliest bellman ever. Both my boys were given complimentary activity backpacks with card games, coloring book, crayons etc. Once in my room the bellhop made sure I had everything I needed, especially for the kids. I had brought a cooler packed with snack and he made sure a mini fridge was delivered. He also made sure the kids received cookies and milk as part of the evening room turn-down. As promised when we returned from our walk around Downtown San Diego, there was cookies and milk waiting for the boys in our room. Overall our stay was nice. The hotel is easy to access and it helps that hotel is connected to Petco Park, especially if you're there to catch a few baseball games as I was.

Excellent Choice

Posted Sep 4, 2014
Pros: Clean and modern. Staff is very helpful.
The Omni is in the center of the Gaslamp District. Petco Park, the Convention Center and lots of restaurants are all around. The trolley stop is right there enabling you to see Little Italy, Old Town and Balboa Park without using a car. Behind the Convention Center is a ferry to Coronado. We will definitely be going back.

Hotel is very nice place in the Gaslamp District in Downtown San Diego next to Petco Park...staff is friendly and helpful...$38 a day parking is ridiculous...

Cold, noisy room, and an expensive restaurant with poor quality food, served by passive-aggressive wait staff.
