Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Comfortable beds
Cons: They have decided to cancel any form of breakfast. Coffee and creamer in lobby were terrible. Shower temperature changed and fluctuated on its own.
Room was nice with a comfortable bed. Parking was a bit tricky in their car ports.

It wasn't clean and not horribly friendly.

I found it to be a little dirty and the morning staff was not friendly and seemed put out by being there.

The parking space is not wide enough to park the minivan. I tried to park it but too tight when I back up it scratch the side mirror to the pole, so I decided to park on the front, I will never go back there again, goodbye forever

Never again

Posted Sep 3, 2014
The front door and window didn't lock, there was no breakfast served, the view was of the wall next door, the phone didn't work, and we had to park behind the hotel and down the street.

Good clean place right when you need it

Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
This is a "Mom and Pop" sort of place. The room was clean. The beds were good and the bedding was clean. That's the main thing I look for in a room. On the really plus side, the bathtub had a "gritted" bottom to prevent slips. That is so welcome. It was also very clean as was the rest of the bathroom. There is ample free parking which can be hard to find in a beach city. Lots of food places within walking distance. This was a place to stay while visiting family so we didn't spend a lot of time in the room. There was a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker with coffee in our room. If you are looking for a good continental breakfast . . . this is not the place. Walk the 4 blocks north to Pannikin. Great food and nice patio area. For other meals, if you like Mexican food, there is a hole-in-the-wall place at the next corner north called Juanita's. You can't go wrong.

Never Again! We said next time we would sleep in car before spending any money for a room here, scratched car getting into parking space, heard slamming of the pool gate continually until pool closed, very small TV, had to get hold assistance getting into room because there was a trick to opening the door, room could use some new accessories.

Pros: The staff was excellent
Cons: Need to upgrade
Location: I love Del Mar, what can I say!
Over all it is a nice place if needed for 1 night. It seems to be a little old and smelled that way. Carpet was very dirty and stained. I had to wash my feet every night before I went to bed.

My one-night stay

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: The location was great.
Cons: Check the rooms for stains (etc) then remove them. Make some changes to the breakfast bar.
Location: Two minutes from a nice beach (Moonlight, Encinitas), great restaurants, and centrally located in N. County San Diego.
Overall, the place was ok. Parking is precarious. The covered parking spaces are very tight, having support posts in between every space. There are four or five uncovered spaces, for those guests that are not professional drivers. The room was clean, though the couch had some stains. That made me not want to use it! The continental breakfast was pretty weak. Two types of cold cereal, oatmeal packets, hard boiled eggs, and some sweet rolls.

all in all we enjoyed ourselves, the beach was a little farther than we expected. The so called breakfast was a joke hard boiled eggs and tiny danishes, no juice except Hawaiian punch. Didn't bother with it just went down the street.
