Comfortable and pleasant hotelPosted Sep 17, 2014
Pros: Style of the buildings and landscaping
Cons: Shabby unkempt feeling in the back around the "Fountains" building
Location: Convenient to all the the sites and visiting we did (friends in Encinitas plus a visit to Legoland)
I loved the look of the place when I drove up. It was a little confusing to navigate the complex. Front desk staff were very friendly. Our room was in the "Fountains" building, which had a little bit of a shabby feeling, as it was tucked away in the back of the grounds next to the service and industrial entrances to the complex. Warning signs in the parking lot about potential jeapardy to cars and contents gave me an uneasy feeling. I did not feel completely relaxed. I would stay in the hotel again, but not in the Fountains building.

Hotel Evaluation;Posted Sep 5, 2014
Pros: The quiet, serene, atmosphere.
Cons: It appeared that the exit steps near the east side may need tightening up. We could hear guests move up and down.
Location: San Diego Zoo
This hotel would be highly recommended by my spouse and I . Our three day stay was nothing but enjoyable. The staff all were friendly, courteous, and kind. The food and room service was excellent. We wish to Thank the hotel and staff for a stay which will be remembered. Fred & Rosiland James

Rancho Bernardo Resort & Spa - San Diego Fun TripPosted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: See above
Cons: I would improve the breakfast buffet. Personally I thought it was overpriced. No omlets, no pancakes.
Location: See above.
I would rate this Resort as very relaxing and quiet. Very friendly staff and well kept resort. Would definitely return to this resort whenever we return to San Diego. Away from the hustle and bustle but yet just a 20-25 minute drive in either direction to get wherever you want to go. Also, the golf course was very nice.

great hotel to relaxPosted Jun 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
Front desk was very polite and offered assistance with our luggage. The room was very clean with 2 queen beds and separate bathtub and shower, which was just what we needed after our trip to the safari park. The hotel has quite a few places to eat and drink onsite which is very convenient. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

Lovely grounds and staff but some disappointmentsPosted Jun 7, 2014
The staff were very accommodating when I had issues or pressed for questions. The $19 daily "resort fee" didn't cover anything but internet and parking. On 2nd query when I asked again what it covered they did comp me $8 as I did not have a car - which I said on original check-in. The Verenda/main restaurant was a lovely setting but the food was only average. The bedding was made poorly with non-fitted sheets and moving bed pad which bunched up easily - the duvet on top was very nice. It's a hotel that accommodates the corporate getaway/golfing event well but it's not for a typical pleasure traveler - nothing around / close within 30 miles.
