Beautiful Trip on the Oasis.Posted Jul 8, 2013
Pros: This hotel was amazing! It was like being away but staying at home. Very nice accomodations with the most beautiful and lavish nature surrounding.
Cons: Some of the furniture needs to be updated. But overall it was lovely.
Location: Restautrants and La Jolla Beach is about 20 minutes away. Very nice area, secluded and not a lot of noise or hustle and bustle. It's perfect!
We came from Seattle to visit San Diego. It was our 2nd time in San Diego-CA. We really enjoy the city, sun and beaches. We stayed at the Rancho Valencia and had a blast! My family had a great time in the accomodations. We ate in the beautiful room, outside in the veranda. We went to play tennis and also took part in swimming near our room.. It was perfect and I can't wait to return. Thank you!

Great "getaway" placePosted Feb 20, 2013
A delightful place to get away for a few days. Enjoyed the sunset from The Pony Room deck. Attention to details sets this hotel apart. Also enjoyed the shop, Sheridan at Rancho Valencia.

awesome resortPosted Feb 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
The Rancho Valencia exceeded all of our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the staff bent over backwards to welcome us, accommodate every request, and make us feel like royalty. The room was the nicest I have ever stayed in. Large, luxurious and the greatest bathroom ever. Hot tub and courtyard were exquisite. The tennis facilities were immaculate and the pro, Robin, was fantastic. The restaurant and bar were comfortable and the food was fantastic. The outside dining and the firepits were terrific. For a romantic getaway with activities, there is not a better place to combine both at the highest level. I can't wait to return.

Was imminently impressed with this property. Lush mature trees and elegant landscaping enhance the resort. The soft attention to details is done without affect. The junior suite was spectacular, set in living area that opens to a spacious patio and a sizable fireplace with an enormous walk-in closet. The privacy and warmth of the property are unmistakeable and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant menu is simple and exceptional. The spa is in it's own league. Tennis facility is impressive. As if that were not persuasive enough the new owner Jeff has an unassuming presence on the grounds. He's a genuinely nice guy with an eye for details. Met him once during a spin class where he participated and saw him again on the restaurant patio. If you're even considering staying here just make your reservation and be prepared to love your stay.

Amazing place - just a little noisyPosted May 4, 2011
Hubby and I did our first night away from the kids here - 1 night was not enough. Everything was lovely - except the noise of the construction outside our room. When we said something upon checkout they just said "oohhhh, sorry about that." It's fine - but it would have been nice to have them that they would fix it for the next customer, or ?? It is a very expensive place to be woken up early by crazy noise and shouting workers... (But we were the lucky ones that had the din right outside the room - everyone else was probably fine.)

Special PlacePosted Nov 25, 2010 on Hotels.com
Nice place, people who were very competent and pleasant. Expensive but worth it. Suite was very large and comfortable. Slightly dated but the age was overwhelmed by the fine amenities and service. Particularly good wait staff and cuisine in the restaurant.

FantasticPosted Oct 6, 2010 on Hotels.com
We loved our quiet comfortable casita. Every morning our fresh squeezed orange juice and newspaper was delivered outside our front door. The bed was wonderful, there was a roomy seating area, desk and it had a private bathroom, closet and dressing area. We also had a private patio. Loved the spa with its numerous hot tubs, fireplaces, snacks, and luxurious treatment rooms. The tennis is amazing the teaching pro Arturo is fantastic and we had a ball with him. We were invited by some tennis members after our lesson to play tennis with them. The resort is a 10 minute drive to the beach. Its a perfect quiet private oasis in a beautiful city. Paradise really. We had an incredible vacation.
