Stay away

Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pesky fly in room first night. Temps in the 90's and no water in vending machine for four days and no stores close by. Smoke alarm sounded everyday for no reason. Needed to be reset daily.

Nothing fancy here but very nice people, good free breakfast, comfortable beds and very convenient to trolley for the stadium.

Happy with stay

Posted Sep 15, 2014
We found the room clean but very small. Bed was comfortable and it had all the amenities we needed. Staff was friendly and we enjoyed the pool. Only thing is there isn't anything around us but other motel and homes. Motel is on highway and we had to drive to find food.

Nice place to stay for a Bargain

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Convenient to everywhere we wanted to go, clean premises, nice staff
Cons: A wider variety of breakfast foods would be nice. i.e. yogurt, other fresh fruit besides apples and oranges.
Location: Old Town San Diego and Downtown are very close by, there are at least 2 malls within 10 minutes
Rodeway Inn near Qualcomm Stadium served it's purpose for our stay. It's on a nice street but it's RIGHT next to the freeway, so I would reccommend requesting a room that faces the street. (freeway noise is why it got a 3 for comfort.)It is very close to Old Town San Diego and other amenities. Freeway access to the 8 is convenient. The room was good, it looked like it had recently been re-done. The a/c worked well but the pillows are not standard size so you might want to bring your own. Breakfast is from 6:30-9:30 and consists of juice, coffee, instant oatmeal (that you have to make in your room as there is no microwave/water in the breakfast room), make your own waffle, cereal, bagels, multiple pastries to choose from and hard boiled eggs. The internet worked pretty well for a hotel and we did not have problems with it cutting out on us. They do have a pool but it is only 4 feet deep in the middle so not conducive to actual swimming.

Great hotel

Posted Sep 13, 2014
This hotel was perfect for us and our two kids. The staff did a great job of meeting our needs and accommodating our requests. The breakfast staff did an amazing job at keeping the area clean and freshly stocked and the maintenance man swapped out our room refrigerator for a new one right away when we noticed the door wasn't staying shut. Great hotel. Would stay there again in a heart beat.

No integrity in respecting Non-smoking reservation

Posted Aug 5, 2014
We reserved a non-smoking room and were put in a smoking room. Staff insisted it was non-smoking despite the fact there were burn marks on the floor and it reeked heavily of smoke. Further, it did not have the non-smoking decal on the door that every other non-smoking room had. We requested a move and received a truly non-smoking room that was in ill-repair and smelled dank.

Nice hotel and close to the attraction parks.

Posted Jul 25, 2014
Pros: Nice, clean and cheap.
Location: On my stay I visited Sea World, San Diego Zoo and Safari Zoo.
First when I got there, I was surprised. The out side was not the best, once I stepped inside everything changed. Receptionist very helpful. The rooms are small but perfect for me. I needed help on directions, they helped me and also printed out directions for me.

Nice amenities, but shower poor

Posted Jul 9, 2014
Pros: TV, frig/micro, beds comfortable, free wi-fi.
Cons: shower, and needs larger facilites such as the kitchen area, and rooms.
Location: the location was a bit farther than the central area we frequented, but still do-able. Ran into traffic congestion on 2 of the freeways (not fun).
For a 2 star hotel, the value was good. Updated TV, full continental brkfst., free wi-fi, frig/micro, beds comfortable. However the room was small, and the worst part was the shower. When first turned on it was just a mist. Managed to get beyond a mist, but not really what I'd call a shower of water, and it would make a loud noise after a few minutes as if a generator was working the shower, and sometimes act like it was going to stop altogether. The staff was nice and polite, but because of the shower and small room, I'd probably check out some other hotels for next time.
