Working tripPosted Nov 20, 2013
Location: safe to walk around. There are stores and a mall within walking distance
All was fine but my room was not made up till very late in the day. The staff was very pleasant but one day I decided that maid service could be skipped since I now needed to work in my room.

Beautiful Hotel close to everything!Posted Nov 5, 2013
We stayed at this beautiful Marriott for a weekend. This hotel is located in a central La Jolla close to UCDS, shopping centers, and other tourist attractions. The decor is very modern and elegant. Room is very nice and clean, comfortable bed with clean fresh linens. Starbuck is located inside the hotel, very convenient for coffee in the morning. We had a wonderful time and definitely will come back !

Oh for Thick Walls and Properly Prepped RoomsPosted Oct 14, 2013
Cons: Addressing the needs of specific requests and having the rooms properly prepared and sound proofing between rooms.
Location: Venture to the USS Midway in San Diego for a great tour. Visit the wine production area of Temecula and enjoy great restaurants in La Jolla.
The Marriott La Jolla is nicely located to visit with my daughter who was on a special project at San Diego State, visiting the Temecula wine country and venturing into the beach community of La Jolla. The front lobby area was loud because of the great Latin music coming from the night club on site, but surprisingly once you entered the elevator you could no longer hear it. Now if the hotel had just used the same technology for quiet between the rooms, it would have made this stay much more pleasant. There is nothing like being woken by a child at the crack of dawn who was extremely loud. The child felt like it was in the room with me, rather than in the next room. Further, although a king bed was requested at the time of making the reservation, Marriott claimed to only have one king size bed in its entire facility, by the time we arrived, even though we set it up for a late check in. The room ended up being in a corner near the electrical panel, supply locker and the elevator. Never mind I am a Marriott Member and specifically have those areas designated as unacceptable. Further the room smelt dusty and did not even have a hair dryer in the room. This just makes me move away from using a Marriott facility in the future. There are too many other hotels that provide similar location without the hassles, are cleaner, are more sensitive to its members needs and have the rooms properly prepared and cleaned for it guests upon their arrival, regardless of what time I check in.

I really liked this hotel. Check I'm was extremely easy and fast. We got there early and had no problems checking in before 4 pm. The room layout was nice. The room was clean and spacious. The bed was insanely comfy. Great place to stay and relax.

Close to UCSD and La JollaPosted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: location, cleanliness, friendly staff
Cons: Slight issue with TV - staff came by to fix immediately
Location: Gliderport for paragliding and drove to PB for mild surfing
Overall excellent hotel - in town to visit son who is a recent college grad. He gave me list of three hotels within walking distance. Booked through Expedia who offered lower price than booking directly.

Great stay, great price!Posted Sep 16, 2013
The room was fantastic, customer service was great, and we had no real challenges. Didn't like having to pay $20/day for parking as a hotel great, but I guess you don't really have a choice.

ok hotel. Keep expectations lowPosted Sep 10, 2013
Cons: Promise the right info and deliver on the same. Make web site info consistent with what really is at hotel.
Location: Beach. Sea world. Safari.
Hotel was ok. Before booking promised to Provide free Breakfast, free wifi. After booking , it says no cancellation and breakfast, wifi charged. That is straight dissappointment and incorrect information. Also service was not good.Asked for room service to clean the place, only to see bed still dirty and not made. Overall, hotel not recommended if you want to have nice holiday
