“Great Location!”
Great Hotel in a great location. Easy access to downtown, Coronado Island and more.
“Almost Perfect”
Everything about this hotel is excellent. The only thing that was less than perfect was the bartender at the bar inside the hotel. He acted like he did not want to be there, was rude to everyone at the bar and turned people away before the bar was closed (9pm)
“An excellent quality hotel in a convenient location”
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel very much and it was within walking distance of everything we wanted to do.
“Comfy in San Diego”
My spouse and I went just for a short trip over the holiday to relax and enjoy some sun. Great views of the bay, walking distance to the gas lamp. Would stay again.
“Beautiful Place. Beautiful Pool. Would go back anytime.”
One of the nicest pools I've seen, and I've seen a lot. Right downtown, 2 min. walk to the Gas Light district. 1 min. walk to the waterfront and shops. It's a really nice hotel located perfectly.
“Thanksgiving Vacation”
Stayed at this hotel for a family get away during the holidays. Our room was very clean and the view was excellent (had a bay view with a balcony). Even though on the first night the Marine Ball was being held at this hotel it was very quite. The workout facility is the best that I have ever seen at a hotel. The staff was friendly (especially the housekeeping staff). My only complaint is that parking is horrible and $26 dollars a night is ludicrous and if your going to do anything you need a car. The pools are very nice, but the weather was really too cool to take full advantage of them. The hotel restaurant was lacking, but there are a lot of hip ones within walking distance in the gas lamp district.
“Great Experience”
The hotel was beautiful, the staff was very friendly and helpful, and the location was awesome. Would definitely go back!
“San Diego Marriott Marquis Downtown”
The bathroom, especially the toilet, was not clean. The bath towels were extremely small. The coffee maker had a previously used (dirty) filter from the previous guest. The bed was worn out and had a hole in the middle. The in-room safe (security box) did not work. It was closed and had no power. However, the room had great views to the marine and ocean and the manager on duty was very kind and receptive to our complaints/concerns.
“Great Views of the Pacific Ocean and Bay”
I attended a conference and it was very easy access to the ballroom. I ate at the pool-side restaurant and the service was GREAT! The bar was busy and did not have enough cocktail waitresses. I sat at the bar one night and received incorrect change that the manager corrected. Another night I left before being served due to slow service. Front desk, valet, and bellhops were all super. Unfortunately I could not see the America's Cup from my balcony--but the view was definitely worth the few extra dollars! The hotel is within walking distance of Gaslight district and the Midway. Also close to the airport. I would recommend this hotel to anyone visiting San Diego.
“very satisfied”
we were very happy with our stay at the Marina
