Great hotel for Rock 'n' Roll San Diego!
Posted Jan 10, 2013
Pros: Free Late check out, trolley access, plush bedding.
Cons: Overnight parking fee $45
Location: Nearby some shops but trolley access makes all of SD accessible.
I stayed here the night before the Rock 'n' Roll San Diego Half & Full Marathon 2013 and it was the best choice! I wanted a hotel alongside the Trolley but couldn't afford the downtown hotels. This hotel is located right across from a station AND they provided free late check out (1pm) for runners. They also offered to extend the check out until 8pm for $40 but since I only ran the half, their complimentary late check out had us covered. The hotel was spotless and looked like it had been recently remodeled. Wish I had brought my swim trunks to take a dip in the pool, they even had a movie screen down there. I signed up for RnR SD 2014 so I'll definitely keep this place in mind when checking out rates.

Weekend getaway
Posted Jan 8, 2013
I enjoyed my stay. My wife and I went to San Diego last weekend and had an amazing time. This hotel was in a great location. Close to the mall, the zoo, the beach, sea world, etc etc. the staff was generous. I told one of the staff members that my wife and I had an anniversary coming up and they offered us free champaigne. They also had a card and complimentary cookies sent to our room. I give this hotel a 4 out or 5. The only thing I didn't like was the amount of kids that were in the pool/jacuzzi area unsupervised. But ultimately, the stay was nice!

Not the best for a Marriott.
Posted Jan 29, 2013
Pros: Location just off Fryer's Rd. Very upscale area, walk able to the Trolley.
Cons: Only 1 large towel for 3 people. We did get some more. Daily parking for a hotel quest was $16, and you can not change that.
Location: look above
Only had one larger towel in the room upon arriving. Service was good and front desk was a fast registration. The rooms were OK, as we did not ask for a suite. Location was important to us as our daughter was ending her freshman year at the University of San Diego. Very big mall nearby, and the trolley was 2 blocks away. Good strong shower pumping out lots of water! Convention at hotel, a little too many people, but not at hotel very much. Parking is $16 daily.

Comfortable stay!
Posted Jan 28, 2013
We stayed at the hotel for a destination wedding and found it comfortable. The open areas adjacent to the lobby and pool were very welcoming and gave a feeling of being in Cabo. The pool area was nice, but we came back from the wedding and wanted to enjoy the jacuzzi but found it inundated with kids and the entire area was thrashed. The sitting area with the fire pits was very nice and we enjoyed with friends.

Marriott is constantly good
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: The parking rate...it's low comparatively, but it's still a thorn in the side in my opinion.
Cons: Lower the parking rate :)
Location: The Marriott is nicely located in Mission Valley, it is a trolly ride away from old town and a 10-15 drive from downtown San Diego and Sea World.
The Marriott is nicely located in Mission Valley, it is a trolly ride away from old town and a 10-15 drive from downtown San Diego. It is also minutes away from the Stadium (Chargers/Padres games). When we got there they were extremely nice and gave us a view room on the 15th floor. The hotel was recently remodeled and it looks nice. The rooms have been updated (minus the popcorn ceilings...but who really cares, it's not your house). The rates are good and like I said you can get anywhere in about 15 minutes. The parking rate is among the cheapest you'll find too. Ohhh and the bottled water in the room is free!

Great place to stay!

Pros: One of my favorite was the mattress, very comfortable.
Cons: I didn't have any least favorite thing, even the water pressure on the shower head was great!
This hotel was completely renovated. We were there in May 2013 and everything was NEW! The staff were very nice and respectful, the pool was very clean, the restaurant was not expensive and the food was very good. We stayed 2 nights 3 days and would definitely come back!!

Perfect! near shops, restaurants, safe, dining
Posted Jan 21, 2013
Pros: Everything, beautifully manicured grounds, luxurious feel, Safe, clean, centrally located, great dining, shops, easy freeway access
Cons: I had an amazing stay!
Location: Nice dining, near shops, centrally located to freeway and SDSU, safe new and up in coming area.
My husband and I were in San Diego attending a graduation at SDSU, the University was about 10 minutes away which was perfect because we did not want to be late and it was centrally located and easy access. The Hotel was Beautiful! Staff were well groomed, very nice, professional, and very helpful. The hotel had a pool which was well kept and the grounds were manicured beautifully. They had full bar service inside and out and great food. Our room was recently renovated and it was amazing! I have the highest standard in quality cleanliness and they kicked it out of the ball park, I am a Manager for Environmental Services and normally notice what others would not even think about looking for in cleanliness. I was so happy to see how they took great care in this room. Clean sheets, comfortable bedding, nice balcony, clean elevator, professional staff, close to dining, shops, and safe. I would go back again and again! Thank you so much Marriott Mission Valley :)

Pros: The staff and the location is in my opinion one of the best I have encountered in 35+ years of national travel.
Cons: I like a very quiet room. Having a refrigerator fan going was very noticeable- As I do not sleep in the kitchen of my home.
Location: Close to stores, restaurants, and all the entertainment San Diego has to offer.
My experience- a 4.5 on a 5. The 16.00 a day guest parking fee was a burden. Spending $250.00+ for two nights, and then the addition parking fee of $32.00 was nearly a deal breaker. Had I noticed that expense before I booked, I would have chosen another hotel/location. Amenities- I like a very quiet room. Having a refrigerator is a great help, however, could not a way be made to make them completely silent? The fan going was very noticeable- As I do not sleep in the kitchen of my home. The Great- The staff and the location is in my opinion one of the best I have encountered in 35+ years of national travel. Close to stores, restaurants, and all the entertainment San Diego has to offer.

A Drab, Pinny-Pincher Hotel
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: NONE
Cons: It was drab, boring, and reaked for pinching pinnes!
This is NOT a 3 star Hotel! Everything is very "spartan" -- no frills -- no small table & chairs in the room (no-place to sit, except the bed) -- not enough bath towels, etc.,etc. For the same amount of $$$ -- you can find a more comfortable hotel!

Old hotel

I won't return to this hotel again, there is a shortage of staff. I had 5 bags thought the bell man would help us. But he gave me the cart and told me to return it when I'm done with it. The AC was so lowed I couldn't sleep. At the end this is a cheap hotel pay cheap get cheap quality.
