“Not Impressed”
I use to live in San Diego and brought my boyfriend here to experience some of the best memories I have growing up. We booked this hotel based on Expedia ratings and the amazing package deal that was offered. Although, the hotel was close to the Gaslamp Quarter and within easy driving distance of Coronado Island and Point Loma, the long-haul getting in and out of the Symphony parking garage each day with our rental car was tiresome. We also came across numerous homeless individuals on the street walking to and from the hotel at night. The interior of the hotel and our room was ok, but various musty scents throughout the common areas and mold on the ceiling in the bathroom of our room left me not wanting to return.
“nice hotel”
this hotel very nice , has perfect location near the downtown and close to seaport village , very clean the staff helpful ..... highly recommended ............
“Nice and excellent hotel”
This hotel is very clean and the employees are very nice and polite. Especially the inside pool is nice to play with child during winter and cool season. The room is very clean, comfortable, quite and warm. The only thing difficult is to go to parking lot inside the buliding. The rounded and narrow ramping path to parking lot is a kind of adventure. If you are not an excellent driver, just use valet parking. Overall I highly recommend this place when you stay at San Diego.
“very nice”
everything was great except couldn't get wi-fi in my room which was pretty inconvenient for me...
“Convenient for driving, otherwise dated and in questionable neighborhood”
Pros: Easy access to Balboa park, freeway and airport Staff are polite and helpful Cons: Not in the best neighborhood. I would not want walk too far towards the southern direction at night. Very dated interior; Think 80's.
“Nice”
Very clean, nice, and close to gas lamp. Would stay again.
“GREAT LOCATION - WORN & DATED ROOMS”
The location is wonderful. Close to the Gaslamp and Balboa Area. Right in the heart of downtown. The staff is VERY Friendly and hands on. The rooms while are nice in size was filthy. Hairs stuck to the bathroom walls, linens on beds dirty. The blowdryer was full of dust, some stickly fluid and hairs. The rooms need some major rennovation.
“Not for everyone”
If you are looking for a resort style vacation, this is not for you. This hotel is right downtown which gives you walking access to Petco Park, Gaslamp District, East Village and Waterfront. So you are not trapped in the hotel and have access to many breakfast/dinner options and a chance to experience the city. San Diego is full homeless people, so if this makes you uncomfortable, stay in Mission Valley or by the beaches. The staff was friendly and helpful, the beds comfortable but the decor needs updating. No wireless access in the rooms which is very disappointing, but the lobby is a hotspot. Lobby also has 6 computer terminals with free access. Skip parking in the hotel lot, there are plenty of parking lots available which provide cheaper overnight parking.
