"Our stay was great! The staff was very courteous"
The staff was very courteous and helpful. It was very close to the ocean within walking distance. We did not have to travel very far to get to restaurants or shopping. However it was about 30 minutes away from any attractions however we did know that when we booked our reservations.we would for sure stay here again. And we are just disappointed that they don't take medium-size pets ,so we could bring our dog.

"great location"
This hotel has a wonderful staff that is very helpful. They put us in a room that was close to a busy street so the room was fairly noisy. It is an older property and our room was showing its age. Keep in mind that in addition to the price of the hotel, you will pay a $62 per night resort/parking fee. The boat shuttle to SeaWorld is very nice and is $10 per person.

Best and Worst Times to Visit San Diego

Some say it’s always 70 F and sunny in San Diego. While this coastal city does boast very comfortable temperatures year round, the area cools down a bit during the winter, especially at night. The winter months also see more rain than the rest of the year, but it usually doesn’t sprinkle for more than a day or two at a time.

At the beach, the temperatures are slightly cooler than inland, even during the summer months. Also down at the beach, during late spring the marine layer sometimes causes fog to roll in, which has led the locals to nickname the months May Gray and June Gloom. Although the fog usually burns off by the afternoon, avoid this time of year if you’re looking to soak up the California sunshine all day long.

The summertime is bright and sunny with temperatures hovering around the 70s and 80s F. However, because the kids are out of school and the weather is perfect for a day at the beach, crowds tend to take over this SoCal spot, particularly from June through August. Consider visiting during September or early October when the tourists have left but the beach weather is still lingering.

    Things to Do

Take advantage of the pleasant weather and spend some time outdoors. Head to La Jolla Cove, and watch the seals and sea lions basking on the rocks, or mosey through the gardens and museums of Balboa Park. While you’re in town, take surf lessons at Pacific Beach, or spend the afternoon picnicking at Mission Bay. If you’re in the mood for some hiking, hit the coastal trails at Torrey Pines or climb Cowles Mountain for sweeping views of the city.

After soaking up all that sunshine, take some time to get know San Diego’s history and culture. Begin your adventures in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Considered the birthplace of San Diego, this site is home to the city’s first courthouse and public school house, along with adobe houses and other artifacts and vintage structures. Then visit the Presidio of San Diego, which dates back to 1769, and take a tour of the William Heath Davis House in the Gaslamp Quarter. After a day of exploration, rest up at one of the top resorts in or near San Diego.

    About Resorts

The beauty of staying at a resort is that you have everything you want and need right at your fingertips. Resorts generally provide the usual hotel amenities, such as fitness rooms, business centers, and Wi-Fi access, but many of them offer additional services, too.

Here at Expedia.com, you’ll come across a variety of resorts that feature multiple restaurants, various pool areas, and on-site activities. Some of these resorts include nightclubs and golf courses, while others boast spa services and game rooms. To top it all off, you may even find an assortment of all-inclusive resorts. This type of lodging bundles your meals and activities into the price of the room. All inclusives sometimes offer nightly entertainment, all-you-can buffets, and watersport rentals at no additional charge. Sort through our vast selection of lodging to find a resort matching all your vacation desires.

    Geography

San Diego is located in Southern California, roughly 15 miles north of the Mexican border. It’s a coastal city, bordered by the Pacific Ocean, but it’s also home to mountain terrain, desert-like landscapes, and canyons.

Book cheap flights to San Diego right here with Expedia.com to take on America’s Finest City without giving your budget a second thought. When you bundle your airfare and resort reservations into a vacation package, you can save up to $570.
