"Would Stay Again "
The hotel has a great view. We like that the pool was open later then most hotels and that they offer pool side ordering late as well. The only negatives were that the restaurant on site didn't offer very large menu options and service was just okay. The other draw back was the extra resort fee that needs to be paid, I was aware of this fee from reading other reviews so I wasn't surprised but I expected something extra because of it. Upon checking out I did ask what the extra resort fee was for and the front desk girl said that they have a pool, internet which I thought was crazy because don't most hotels and they don't have that extra fee. The hotel was nice but there was nothing about it that would justify that extra fee.

"Excellent!"
Staff at this Hilton made our experience wonderful! They went out of their way to provide above part service and accommodations. The ladies working with Kids Club remembered names of my kids and greeted them every time they saw each other.

"Nice hotel, terribly expensive parking "
Good location, water taxi to sea world is $20 p.p. Takes 15 minutes. Great pool with amazing slides, if traveling with kids you might end up spending some time there by the pool and skip some attractions. Food was ok, breakfast was $24, kids pay their age. Stay at the tower, it has decent rooms and amazing view. Two story low rise has old rooms, I'd pay at most half the price for those. There is an additional $22 per day resort fee. Now, parking is NOT $10 as it says online, that's the price of the 'day parking', which is a scam because street parking is plentiful, free and right in front of the hotel, I don't know who would pay that. There is no overnight free parking anywhere near and overnight self OR valet parking is $35 per day, which is more than I paid for my rental car. The price is not justified since there is a tone of space everywhere. In short, nice hotel but add $57 of small print fees to the daily rate, and Hyatt, stop behaving like a cable company.

"great stay"
The room was very spacious and comfortable and we were very surprised to find out that we had a "living room adjacent to the room. The beds were comfortable, the room was clean, having 2 bathrooms was awesome as well. I only wish we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy the room and the facilities. We were only there for an overnight stay so we are thinking of coming back and staying a few days.

"That's a lot of stars but..."
I was really expecting some over the top accommodations based on reviews, but I can say while everything is nice, it is living off of its location vs quality of amenities and rooms. Nice is about the best word I can use to describe it. However, when you charge what they do, you don't get away with nice. It wasn't a memorable stay and this was disappointing based on what I had read/heard. The Hilton next door seemed just as nice and more reasonable.

"Better for business than vacation, but still good"
I booked this hotel via Expedia for a family vacation. It's a nice hotel - very beautiful lobby, bars, etc. However, I think it's better suited for business than vacation. For one thing, it's extremely expensive. The breakfast buffet is $27/person. Family of 4 with tip was $120. Also, it seems San Diego is just expensive in general. Most meals for 4 at restaurants in the area (like the Gaslamp District) ran between $160 and $300. You can do cheap, but there's not much around for that within walking distance. With that said, it's a great location. Close to the USS Midway and other local attractions. Otherwise, you'll want to rent a car. Don't forget to include $30/night for parking. Like I said, nice place, but be prepared to lay out some cash.

Best and Worst Times to Visit San Diego

Some say it’s always 70 F and sunny in San Diego. While this coastal city does boast very comfortable temperatures year round, the area cools down a bit during the winter, especially at night. The winter months also see more rain than the rest of the year, but it usually doesn’t sprinkle for more than a day or two at a time.

At the beach, the temperatures are slightly cooler than inland, even during the summer months. Also down at the beach, during late spring the marine layer sometimes causes fog to roll in, which has led the locals to nickname the months May Gray and June Gloom. Although the fog usually burns off by the afternoon, avoid this time of year if you’re looking to soak up the California sunshine all day long.

The summertime is bright and sunny with temperatures hovering around the 70s and 80s F. However, because the kids are out of school and the weather is perfect for a day at the beach, crowds tend to take over this SoCal spot, particularly from June through August. Consider visiting during September or early October when the tourists have left but the beach weather is still lingering.

    Things to Do

Take advantage of the pleasant weather and spend some time outdoors. Head to La Jolla Cove, and watch the seals and sea lions basking on the rocks, or mosey through the gardens and museums of Balboa Park. While you’re in town, take surf lessons at Pacific Beach, or spend the afternoon picnicking at Mission Bay. If you’re in the mood for some hiking, hit the coastal trails at Torrey Pines or climb Cowles Mountain for sweeping views of the city.

After soaking up all that sunshine, take some time to get know San Diego’s history and culture. Begin your adventures in the Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. Considered the birthplace of San Diego, this site is home to the city’s first courthouse and public school house, along with adobe houses and other artifacts and vintage structures. Then visit the Presidio of San Diego, which dates back to 1769, and take a tour of the William Heath Davis House in the Gaslamp Quarter. After a day of exploration, rest up at one of the top resorts in or near San Diego.
